According to the music group Rush fansite Rush Blog, the latest issue of Game Informer mentions under its Loose Talk section that Rush and their Moving Pictures album will be seeing a Rock Band downloadable content release in the near future. And as a complete album download no less! Then again, there are only seven songs on the album, two of which ("Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight") are already available on disc or as DLC. Another interesting thing to ponder is whether or not the new (and so far rumored) Rush DLC will feature master recordings. Because, to date, all three Rush Rock Band tracks have been icky, icky covers.[Thanks, Crypto]

That's one of my favourite Rush ablums, maybe even my number one. I would love to see it all come out for the game, especially as master tracks. No one can sing like Geddy.

If I were Geddy Lee, I would have personally flown down to Harmonix, at my own expense, and re-recorded my voice for free. I then I would track down the person who hired that awful cover singer and give him a cock punch. And then maybe I'd give the singer a cock punch, too, for not knowing when to shut up.

These songs cannot be masters unless Rush Re-recorded them. Rush records their albums on a single audio track and this Harmonix couldn't break apart drums from the bass from the guitar from the lyrics. If you missed a note you would miss everything from the song.
Also movie pictures has Camera Eye that is over 10 minutes long, making it the longest Rock Band song ever...not to mention its not that popular compared to Foreplay/Longtime and Green Grass.

Not to mention bass in YYZ. So tough to play without cheating.... I have great tickets for the Rush show at Red Rocks next Wednesday, to boot. Can't wait.

But YYZ doesn't have lyrics... that can't really work with a game that has a vocalist. Or will they just stand through the entire song going "Wow wow wow Whoaaaaaaaah Dun dun un UN UN!"

That's what I'm wondering... this would be either the easiest song to 100% on vocals or the hardest. This song is why I'm skeptical about this being real DLC.

If it's not master, it's not worth it. I never loved the vocals in Rush, but the cover versions are TERRIBLE.

Consider me a little unimpressed.
Tom Sawyer and Limelight are both already available, YYZ was in GHII, they'll probably have to use covers (unless they try to digitally seperate the instrument parts, which would probably be possible but more hassle than it's worth). And, to be honest, Tom Sawyer and YYZ are really the only tracks I like on that album.
Drums in YYZ would be fun, though.

I've been away for a while so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but according to The Offspring's official site:
"Coming soon for Rock Band:
“Come Out And Play [Keep ‘Em Separated]“
“Self Esteem“
“Gone Away“
“All I Want“
“Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)“
&
”The Kids Aren‘t Alright"
Presumably being released as an Offspring track pack. Which is hella awesome.

Doesn't fit. Tom Sawyer and Limelight are already a part of Rock Band (on the disc and the later as DLC). And YYZ has no vocals...
Maybe we'll be getting more DLC from Moving Pictures / Rush, but no way we'll be getting this "album" with YYZ or without Rush re-recording the entire thing to accommodate Limelight and Tom Sawyer's current RB Presence and justify a second version on the Marketplace.

DEAR LORD. We were just talking about this after we saw the Rush concert in Philly! And of course, the obstacle of YYZ came up.
I'd rather just more tracks from all their albums rather than just all of Moving Pictures. Which would be awesome either way. Spirit of Radio and Freewill off Permanent Waves. Red Barchetta and Camera Eye from Moving Pictures. Subdivisions off Signals.
Hell, I'd hope for a Snakes & Arrows album pack, but we have the problem of three instrumentals on it. (FUCK I WANT TO PLAY MALIGNANT NARCISSISM'S BASSLINE)
