Talking with GamesIndustry.biz, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg reiterated their commitment to the Xbox Live Arcade and how their delisting program will actually benefit the XBLA by forcing developers to "take more time, make use of the new additional storage space and focus on game quality." But Greenberg made sure to note that the delisting program will NOT affect the upcoming XNA Community Games initiative saying that the "program only applies to Xbox Live Arcade" seeing that "Community Games created with XNA do not go through the same submission and certification process." So, no matter how craptucular some community games will end up being (because we all know there will be utter crap), delisting will not be enforced.

That's great that they will not be for the XNA however... I still don't understand the whole delisting thing anyway.
I don't really see a point in it.. I don't think they are hogging server space or anything for Microsoft. I understand trying to promote quality as well but... this just doesn't seem like the way to do it.

They need to delist some of those old demos. I mean really... who's gonna buy Madden 06, NBA 2K6 and some old games like that right now. They need to leave the Arcade games alone and focus on delisting worthless demos

instead of delisting they should "hide" older, not used stuff and let you choose to "see everything"
that way ,, no more clutter, the "hide crappy stuff" option would be the default way to look at the marketplace...
nobody would get burned and it could apply to really old games that have too much content in their list like GRAW and Kameo...
and put up a couple of different ways to sort out the content ,,, you need that for rockband ... (by date, by name, by artist (in this case) , by type of content ( dlc, theme, gamer pictures, video, demo)

The whole de-listing thing is pointless if the games will still be on the servers for people that already downloaded them. Here's a suggestion Microsoft - ORGANIZE THE BLOODY DASHBOARD BETTER.
For a nice approach (and I can't believe I'm writing this) look at the Playstation Store.

What I wanna know is where there be a warning before it happens and a list of what is being delisted, kinda like a last chance buy.
I've been holding off on buying a few older arcade games to see if the price would drop.

XNA games will have a rating system regardless. The more popular a game is, the more likely it is that it'll get downloaded...lol
