"I think that we are not, I would say...happy with the ability to find and discover content as easily as we'd like", Greenberg told MTV Multiplayer, admitting that "we built Xbox Live Marketplace for a few hundred items and now we have 17,000 items." And that kids, simply put, is the reason for XBLA delistings. It's one of those things where (at least for the time being) removing content is an easier solution then totally re-working the XBLM and how content is displayed. Though, Greenberg does say that Microsoft is committed to updating the Marketplace in the future, saying that "longer term, we're looking to make the ability to find content and organize the 17,000 pieces of content we have a lot better." Maybe at that time they'll then put all the delisted XBLA games back on the Marketplace ... maybe.

And with Netflix (hopefully) coming soon, they better clean up that clusterfuck. :/

The delisted items should have their price slashed, like being put into the bargain bin.
Also, i agree that XBLM can be pretty cluttered, and i hope they have a solution in the works instead of just acknowledging the problem and moving on.

give the delisted xbox live titles free to gold subscribers for a limited download time.. surely that would be a much better move than simply delisting them.
With a service that has constant down times, a p2p hosting service that favours americans alone, and a yearly additional charge the equivalent of the cost of a 360 new release title..surely the more incentive to favour xbox live over the ever evolving free service that psn provides is a welcomed one?

I think that taking the titles off of marketplace is the wrong move. There should be a redesign of the marketplace, and slow moving items should be moved, not deleted.

how about re-designing the marketplace & having a search bar? chatpad/usb keyboard users would benifit quite a bit IMO.

Bad idea. I don't want a Dashboard that's "optimized" for keyboard users, because then they'd make it even more difficult for people who don't have a keyboard.

we'll it could be enabled only if a keyboard is plugged in - just like the translucent messenger box.

With the ability to use the L and R buttons to quickly scroll through list... Is it really THAT hard to navigate the marketplace?
I find it kinda silly that they can't A> Make a way to sort by something like year published REALLY easily (to filter out old stuff), or B> Set up an A through Z bar (starting with an "all" option) at the top of the page, scrollable by pushing left and right on the right thumb stick.
Isn't this the company that brought us things like "Bringing it Home", free stuff like Aegis Wing, and a communication system that the competition is STILL trying to catch up to?
It really feels like MS is TRYING to drop the ball on LOTS of things, this year... (adjustments to XBLA royality structure, de-listing, no full spring update) ...it's really pretty sad.

Save de GAMES, throw the garbage (gamerpics, useless videos, useless old demos like Kameo...) and you wil have about 12000 item less. Make sense for me.

a (bad) turning point for XBL.
This is where PS3's Home stops sounding so dumb and starts making sense. And Xbox Live feels outdated, full of commercials and not so streamlined and sexy as they made it out to be.
someone slept on their victory laurels.
