Since its reveal at E3 2005 action-thriller fans have been clamoring for more information on Alan Wake. Developed by Remedy, the team behind Max Payne, the PR camp has been quiet on new details for the title and today is no different. Speaking with Venture Beat, Microsoft's Shane Kim dissapointingly continued Alan's media blackout. "We haven't announced a firm date for Alan Wake." Kim added that Microsoft, who announced it would exclusively publish the title for Xbox 360 and PC at E3 2006, would set a release date for the title when it was ready.
With next to no new information released since 2006, is Alan Wake still on your radar?

Yes, but if and when this game comes out I'd hope that the 3-4 years we've been waiting on this game will be worth it. Although it is kindof nice not to have so much media around this game like most other games. Some games get way too much hype and they end up being crap. My 2 cents!!

I've asked that same question the last time this game surfaced with some "news" (that news merely reminding people the game still wasn't out yet).
I'm not sure we'll ever get an answer.

Apparently it was innovative story with a ridiculous physics engine (tornadoes and flying debris seemed to be the buzzwords) and a glossy polished finish on top.
I like the screenshot here though. Almost looks like an actual photograph

I still periodically check in on it; the game play and story seem pretty good. And I agree with msusig, without all the hype there's not a ton of expectation with the game; although when it does come out it's likely to have the commercial success of good games that no one buys (psychonauts for instance).

How can a game be exclusive if it's on more than one platform? "Exclusive" used to mean you couldn't play that game on any other platform. At any rate, I guess it's good to see this game is at least still on track, and people haven't forgotten about it yet. I've been looking forward to Alan Wake for quite a while now, and the rumor that it had been pushed back to the next generation (Xbox 720?) was really worrying.

For mircosoft exclusive mean only on pc and 360.For everyone else its mean only on one platform.
Now yea this game is still on my radar but i knew this game wasnt plan for 2008 and if it come out in 09 its better not come out around the time resident evil 5 does cause i be picking that one on ps3 and will be busy on that 1 game for a while,as long as its come out 2-3 months after resident evil 5 i will get its.

Meaning it's a Microsoft exclusive. Published by MGS.
So on Xbox 360 and released as a Games for Windows Live title.

to Joey,
Alan Wake was a horror writer in the big city. His wife died and then he moved out to a lakeside town to "get away from it all." At that point, his old and current horror stories began manifesting themselves in real life when the sun went down. Now he has to find a way to stop the madness and survive! So, kind of like Stranger Than Fiction or Delirious but much darker.
That, my friend, is the hook. New lighting technology, wide open areas, talking to people during the day and running for your life at night.
It's funny because if you listen to the RE5 director, he mentions that light and dark elements play a large part in RE5. Someone isn't being original here. And, if Remedy fails to release before RE5, then it will really fail, both commercially and critically.

P.S - I meant that Capcom isn't being original, not Remedy. This game has been in the works since 2006 and I would like to think that, for once, Eastern developers are taking good ideas from Western developers.....Sorry, I didn't want to be misinterpreted here.
