We love the trend of games getting everyone creative with art and custom content and here's another great piece. The Etch-A-Sketchist is at it again, this time recreating the GTAIV cover art with his handy travel companion. It's a shame the art has already been shaken clean off the unit but this photo is a good reminder of the creativity that is inspired by gaming. Seriously though, we couldn't even draw a circle on the Etch-A-Sketch, so this is crazy!

I think if you can make more that straight lines or a stair case on an etchasketch, you are talented. This is great!

I just can't even fathom having this kind of time to waste. Not only to make this, but the time to get this good on a etchasketch! But very good work indeed.

Psst. Hey, I wanted to let you know that you're talking about how you have no time to waste by commenting on a blog about video games. If you're comfortable being that ironic, awesome. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

It's cool, but my first thought when I got the game was not, "Hey let me see if I can sketch the cover art!"

I do them at work. Playing GTA was the only thing I could think about yesterday and so I rocked this piece in my downtime. I almost never rock the knobs at home in my free time.

I get it, you're saying I'm retarded. I'm like that retarded guy from the movie. Good one. Way to be a hater.

Hey Xav, thanks for digging my piece. For those who are curious, this one took me probably 2 or 3 hours done in 20 minute spurts while at work. Etch-a-sketching, despite what you remember from your days back in pre-school, is not actually that hard to do once you get the hand-eye-coordination down. If you can master dual analog sticks, you can handle the two knobs of the Etch-a-Sketch. I recommend Geometry Wars and Katamari for strengthening the brain-hand connection. Also, just for the record, I'm not retarded or crazy or some wierdo who does nothing but Etch-a-sketch all day. I just happen to be dope at something and I put it on the internet. That is all.

You don't need to put a disclaimer about being "retarded" or anything like that, there will always be a hater no matter how awesome something is.
They're just jealous they don't have the capacity to get this good at something.
I think your work is amazing and I've never once thought "man, this guy must be crazy retarded to be able to have the capacity to do these things"
Keep up the good work, hopefully this was a break from some of the other comments.

I wish I knew who you were so your boss could fire you you piece of shit. Why don't you do more productive things with you're time like maybe doing what you're actually paid to do

^This is why I remain pseudononymous. You'll never know who I am, Mr. Fail, no matter how hard you wish. My boss is totally down with me etcha-sketching during my breaks. They make nice little conversation pieces for clients and visitors.
