GTAIV papercraft is adorable, violent

We always felt something was missing from Grand Theft Auto IV and we couldn't seem to put our finger on it, thankfully Tubbypaws blog has shown us the way. Combining two-parts street with one-part adorable, the GTAIV papercraft really captures the raw essence of Grand Theft Auto. Come on. Look at it. The entire papercraft screams "murder simulator!" Note to you big handed people looking to get all Martha Stewart with this papercraft, be patient because it's smaller than it looks (instructions at the source).

Prince of Persia Speedpainting? Ready, Set, GO!

Do you like art? We here at X3F absolutely do, especially when it has to do with a game that sounds great and that we don't know a whole lot about yet. In a sped-up video of Ubisoft's character artist working his magic, we watch as twenty minutes (amazing!) of work flies by in about a minute, producing a stylized likeness of the protagonist. And as is becoming more common in the gaming world, there are plans to keep the short video clips of the game coming. With the job or introducing all the potential players to the world in hopes they'll eventually become actual players. A pic of the artwork can be found here.

GTAIV box art, Etch-a-Sketched

We love the trend of games getting everyone creative with art and custom content and here's another great piece. The Etch-A-Sketchist is at it again, this time recreating the GTAIV cover art with his handy travel companion. It's a shame the art has already been shaken clean off the unit but this photo is a good reminder of the creativity that is inspired by gaming. Seriously though, we couldn't even draw a circle on the Etch-A-Sketch, so this is crazy!

Halo 3 Forge mode art attack!

A day after showcasing some nice Halo 3 screenshot art we got word of a contest on Maximum Fear that asked gamers to get creative with Halo 3's Forge mode. Halo 3 player Hahka submitted the winning piece, as shown above, and took home a $25 Bungie Store gift card.

Some of the other entries included a shockingly realistic portrait of Bungie's Frank O'Connor and a disturbing recreation of Michael Jackson's mug. Oh, so that's how his doctors figure out how to resculpt his face everytime! Makes sense.

Halo 3 Mini-Legendary edition

When Halo 3 hit store shelves last year the ultimate fan option was the Legendary edition which, along with the game, included a replica of Master Chief's signature helmet. The problem was the entire collection was lambasted for being a touch on the gigantic size.

DeviantART user 2twoproductions must have had space issues with her gaming setup because today she showed off her latest work, a mini . The mini-Legendary edition includes the famous helmet, game holder, cardboard box and even the slip cover. With the size of this helmet we wonder just how big this artist's cat is.

[Thanks to Amy for the fantastic artwork]

Custom dashboard blades for your 360

We called for our readers to submit their own 360 inspired art yesterday, and we got a nifty response today. Coming from 360 Fanboy reader, Andrey (Gamertag: Louco Diamante), is an entire gallery of images. While these aren't made by Andrey himself, he has gone through the trouble of formatting them for the Xbox 360's Dashboard blades. The images come in a high 1920 X 1080 resolution and all of them run under one megabyte for quick navigation. There's a large selection of images to choose from, ranging from Assassin's Creed to Virtua Fighter 5. If you've been looking for some spiffy images for your 360, it's worth checking out. As always, if you've got any 360 related art you'd like to share -- fan art, comics, whatever -- let us know.

Get your custom hand-painted faceplate

Professional artist Pavel Dolgov is selling custom hand-painted 360 faceplates on eBay. Send him an "inspiration picture" along with $100 and you'll get a one-of-a-kind piece of art to grace your console. Provide the blank faceplate yourself and save $17. Of course, you could always head down to the craft store and make your own masterpiece, but it's tough to enjoy the post-mortem appreciation when you're the one who has to croak.
