In our continuing effort to bring you fresh and interesting content, X3F presents Would You Rather ... a weekly feature that asks you the hard questions. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?
The recent comments from the N+ leaders have had us thinking? What's more beneficial to the XBLA brand? New IPs or remakes of classic arcade titles? While arguments can be made from both sides it only take a few moments of nostalgia to think of a half dozen titles we'd like to see thrown on the platform in downloadable bite-sized form.
Well here's this weeks tough question. If you had to choose, one of the other (without sitting on the fence for once!) which would it be?

Feel free to share the reasons for your vote in the comments. We'll share the results of the poll during the next edition of Would You Rather ... which hits X3F every Wednesday.
Last weeks WUR results can be find after the jump ... click here to go back to the past!

Plain and simple your voice was heard, if you voted by actually reading the post. Convenience doesn't mean a thing when it comes to classic collections. You want the real thing on your shelf and collecting dust or not at all. We recommend you purchase a new cabinet, possibly a shelf. That way when you're sleeping in the bathtub because of your overgrown collection you'll at least be proud that what you own is in alphabetical order. We kid! We kid!

I would want old ports if you could also get the original controllers for them, like the beer tap from beer tapper, and the spinning knob from tron, or the trac ball from crystal castles, but barring that, I'd rather have more original games.

Honestly, I say neither. I am not into XBLA games at all really as they just never have sparked interest to me. Even old ones redone.

Hmmm it's a toughy. I'm all for new IP's but like a trip down nostalgia lane every now and then.
I went for Originals in the end as I'd rather go without the re-makes if I had to choose.

more original content, If I wanted a port, I would save my money and open up an emulator on my pc or turn on my old consoles.
I dont mind remakes with added features tho. Like a perfect dark 64 remake with added hd textures and online multiplayer would be greater then any original XBLA game that could come out. A port of perfect dark 64 with no changes like virtual console would have appearing would be a waste of time and money.

The new games that have the style of old games seem to be the best ones... my favorite XBLA title have been Geometry Wars and Pac-Man Championship Edition... and Doom (It was new to me). If you're going to use an old IP at least make a new game like Pac-Man. The game I'm most looking forward to is Castle Crashers which is a new take on an old genre.

personally i like both the originals and the arcade ports, but i voted for the ports cuz i love the way the games look when they bring them back, HD and a lot of them are made multiplayer through the online, as well as sharing the screen in person. Some games shouldnt be bothered, such as the Streets of Rage 2, it says it's in HD but the original version for sega looks a lot better, that's my favorite series so it takes a lot for me to admit that. But the new Remix edition of Street Fighter is going to look and play amazing, i can't wait.
