Burnout Paradise Dust Storm DLC and bridges too
Yesterday, Criterion informed (and teased) everyone about upcoming Burnout Paradise downloadable content and finally revealed how exactly they will incorporate DLC without dividing the community. The short answer. Bridges.
Criterion's Alex Ward hopped on the forums to tell everyone that all upcoming Paradise DLC will be bridges that lead off of Paradise City into new DLC worlds and experiences. This of course is a great way to not divide the community, because anyone who doesn't have the DLC simply cannot cross the bridge and instead will remain in Paradise City. Genius! Criterion also dangled a carrot in front of our noses by giving us a video (embedded above) of a new vehicle, The Dust Storm, that'll be included in the next DLC batch. Yummy!

They need to improve gameplay, not add extra stuff.

There's nothing wrong with the gameplay, there, Jonah. It's an incredible racer, but the open-ended aspect is new, so many (including yourself) began hating on it for the sake of hating on it.
When the demo came out, I recall you flipping out about how awesome it was - suddenly you're on the 'eff this game' bandwagon... Right.
I can't wait for the DLC :)

I traded in my copy of burnout, mainly because I drive halfway across the city and have to drive all the way back, the camera is too close to the car and first person view makes me ill. By no means is the gameplay bad, it just wasn't worth a buy for me. IT's just that the camera is so close to the car that you can't see ANYTHING that you're about to ram straight into.

I prefer the open endedness of the gameplay. While some are unable or unwilling to adjust, i've never played Burnout so my expectations not challenged. You gotta embrace the cruising aspect otherwise you're not gonna have fun. I hope this DLC comes soon, I've been playing Burnout Paradise nonstop since it came out.

I wouldn't mind open-endness as long as it wasn't getting in way of "fun" or "burnout".
If they did it "Most Wanted" style(Retry options, skipping straight onto events etc.) I'd be all over this game.
Oh and people hate it for a reason. Being as lazy as making it largely into a Burnout 3 Remake would get this game some perfect scores. And still they managed to cock it up.They don't even have balls to admit their mistakes(The Letter & Attitude)

This might be the first DLC I actually buy.
I've never played a full Burnout game (I played the Revenge demo a lot), so I don't really have a basis of comparison, but god they need to get rid of Showtime.

I don't see why people are whining about the retry thing. It's not that hard a game, and if you can't beat an event on the first try, maybe you should stop playing.

I love this game. I'll definitely buy the DLC if it expands the city.
The fact that there is no retry doesn't bother me. First of all, I rarely fail to win. Not that it isn't a challenge. I've just gotten better at the game. And if I do fail, I just choose a different nearby event. No biggie.
I've already found all the jumps, all the gate smashes and all the billboards. You get some killer cars for doing that. :)
The cars you start to get when you have your A license are really awesome.

I think the contents worth it. I do have some gripes about the stage design but gameplay wise. No other games runs smoother.
What other racer can you race around an open-ended city with 8 other players with non-existent lag. Yeah the Retry buttons out but if you feel like your going to loose the race don't finish it just stop go back or choose another race...
