Announced this past July during the craziness that was E3 2007,
Shacknews is reporting that
Gears of War on the PC will be hitting retail shelves this November 6th with exclusive content not seen in the Xbox 360 version.
Gears PC will come jam packed with brand new content including five additional chapters, three new multiplayer maps, a new King of the Hill gametype, a game editor and the infamous Brumak boss fight. As you can see, there's lots of fun and interesting goodies in the new PC version, all of which
won't see the light of day on the 360. It's sad really and we refuse to quit complaining about it. Where's the
Gears 360 love Epic, where's our love?

Will the 360 version be getting exclusive content?
I can't say I am surprised that they are giving the PC all the upgrades. Epic has been on a pretty hefty downhill slide for a while.

Exactly. Sure, it's Gears Of War, but how many times did you report on Two Worlds for the PC? I don't care about GoW on the PC. Hi.

It's like CliffyB said, if there wasn't extra content on the PC version, why would anyone buy it? What I want to know is, will it be running on the 'Games for Windows' platform and are there acheivements. I'll probably buy this just for the sake of the brumak fight. Would be fun also to have cross-platform MP but I doubt that will happen.

yea there are achievements. In the leaked video of July you saw someone get an achievement when he reloaded. And most likely games for windows since it needs to run on that. I was an avid Gears gamer(halo 3 ruined it XD) but PC gamers need love too. And bonus content cuz it wont sell otherwise. congrats PC gamers, hope you enjoy wut was the talk of the gaming world a year ago!

I don't understand the point of spending all this money to make all this extra content that your established base can't play? By putting it on PC you are probably going to overlap 75% of purchasers with repeat buyers. I bet you could easily sell this content for $20 on XBL instead of forcing those in your installed base to play on their tiny computer monitor...

I don't understand why they're putting all this extra effort into a PC game when the majority of the users are just going to pirate the thing. Your average Joe doesn't own a computer that's capable of running GoW at a respectable setting, however those who DO have a machine that can do it are trained in the ways of the Torrent.

Hefty downhill slide? Are you kidding? They were very well off with just Unreal and Unreal Tournament. They didn't need to make GoW at all, and the profits made weren't vital to their company.
The reason the PC users are getting all the different content is to mix it up for them- as they may have already played it.
Jesus, I hate how you guys bitch about it so.

@ 10:
Nick, just because you have a tiny computer monitor doesn't mean the rest of us don't. Hell, mines big enough I use my 360 on it so I can play in high definition (22" Gateway HD). I play Gears on my Xbox through this, and on the PC it could only be better, especially with keyboard and mouse. Not to mention all the modding and map making capabilities.
On to my last post, Epic is also rewarding the faithful PC gamers that have been with them, and stuck with them even after they made an awesome exclusive for a console instead of the PC.

Alright, since I'm an avid PC gamer and console gamer, this is good news to me, regardless of if the game had already come out on the 360.
First, Epic has already established itself as a PC game maker long before this, they haven't been on any sort of 'downhill slide'. Unreal Tournament 3 is coming out in November, and most PC gamers are damn happy about it. I kind of found it inevitable that Gears would also come out for PC, since it wouldn't be hard to port it anyway.
Also, @13: No offense, but that had to be the most retarded reply to an article ever. The Game is supported in XP as well as Vista. Although Vista will probably have some fancy DirectX 10 features, you should probably remember that the 360 uses DirectX 9, so if it's from the 360, it'll most likely work on XP. Only DirectX 10 is Vista-only. Now Halo 2 PC, that was a Vista marketing ploy. Not that it can't run on XP, just takes some workaround.
I'm glad to see Gears coming to PC users, especially considering that some people who were interested in Gears didn't have a 360, but did have a PC. The extras just give them a little thank you for waiting so long.

First off: I could never be mad at Epic, they gave me Gears of War in the first place. Secondly why do so many comments on here relate to being 'rewarded' in regards to game follow ups? As an avid console gamer who doesnt have the money to be constantly making PC upgrades i am sooo happy that they are working on stuff for a PC version ahead of GOW2, regardless of whether we end up getting the extra content on the 360 or not. As far as Im concerned its only gonna lead to a stronger second game. I guess the only people that are complaining are those that don't love the game in the first place as much as I do, cos I'm still loving every time I put the disc in the drive and go online to take some heads. Halo 3? Nah, gimme a lancer and I'll take Master Chiefs damn head off!!!
Please Halo 3 fans, no anger needed in response - I kow it's awesome, but Gears has taken over as top dog in my opinion.

GEARS OF WAR running at 60fps with the right setup and a longer single player experience...... I'm sold. Good looking out EPIC, for taking care of your loyal consumer base. PROPS! Give us GOW 2 by next year on the 360 and we call it even, lol.

Gears of What?
Halo 3 FTW!
Seriously though, as a high end PC owner the only game I'm interested in is Crysis. Gears can take a long walk off a short pier.

Where do people get the idea, including Epic that no-one will buy a game on PC unless it has extra content. Nearly every 360 game has atleast a PC version, if not other consoles. People without a 360 but who have a PC and who want the game will buy it regardless of extra content. I know atleast a dozen people who don't have a 360, but will buy this for PC.
It is a lame excuse for screwing over fans who made a franchise.
