Speaking with GameDaily, Gears of War maestro Clff Bleszinski recently discussed the upcoming film adaptation of the mammoth new franchise. While he gives the typical spiel about how much care is going into creating the film and how the screenwriter knows everything about the game (that's what they said about Silent Hill, remember), his comments on the casting prove to be the most interesting. Specifically, CliffyB notes that the man who plays Marcus Fenix should not be someone who is "buff or six foot five," but rather someone who is "charismatic." According to Cliffy, the important part of casting Marcus is that whoever plays him can act. A shocking and innovative idea, we know, but it just might work. I think this movie will be the game-turned-movie that will set the standard for others to come. The team obviously put a lot of hard work and thought into the game, I don't think they'll let the movie become a failure and tarnish their franchise. Just my 2cents.

I say Dominic Purcell from Prison Break would make a great Marcus Fenix. I love Adam Balwin, but Marcus needs to be rougher around the edges. I could see him as Biard though. Ving Rhames would be a great Cole. Can't think of who should be Dom.

@ Kyle
Man Ben Stiller plays two characters, the goofy clean cut good guy, and the goofy bad guy with a mustache.

Why not just get John Di Maggio to do it, all actors in action movies go through that 6-12 month body shaping period for their role so he can just lose some weight, shave that mustache and put on a headwrap then we have an authentic Marcus Fenix.
