So, are you starting to get confused by all the different Xbox 360s out there? Let's see, we've got the Core, Premium, and Elite. That's pretty easy. Then there's the Halo 3 Xbox 360. Oh, and if you want a Premium with HDMI, you'll have to do some more digging, too. Let's not forget the Xbox 360 Arcade, which probably means there won't be a Core anymore. See, getting confusing, right? Look out then, because there just might be another SKU joining the mix. According to Stuff.tv, some unidentified GameStop employees have uncovered a new SKU dubbed 360 Ultimate. So, what's in the package? A built in HD DVD drive and a 320GB hard drive. That's it actually. Some are guessing that this is the rumored Xbox built with IPTV in mind, though we're not convinced that Microsoft would launch yet another new Xbox 360 anytime soon. Take it with a grain of salt, and start bugging Microsoft for some details on IPTV while you're at it.

First I was going to pick up one with HDMI, then I was going to wait for the new chip with HDMI, now I suppose Ill wait for the built in HD-DVD drive.
By then there will be a built in HD/BR combo drive and an espresso machine in the back Ill have to wait for.
Come on already.

I agree completely. I've been waiting for the new chips (still waiting), then it was a price drop, then I heard about the HDMI... and now possibly hd-dvd?
While it's all good, it makes it hard to spend the money right now knowing improvements are around this never-ending corner.
It's the same thing with the PS3. Rumors of the 80gb w/ motorstorm dropping to $499. Then it could POSSIBLY have a better controller. Who knows what else?
It's hard to choose nowadays. Back in the Nintendo/Super Nintendo days it was just that model and it was never updated. Day 1 or Year 3 it was the same damn system... just cheaper.
Frustrating really.

Toshiba has announced (PDF) a new line of 2.5" mobile Serial ATA hard drives available with capacities up to a whopping 320GB. The MK-52GSX packs up to 160GB per platter, spins at 5,400RPM, and sports 8MB of cache. It also includes a free-fall sensor that can help the drive survive falls greater than 10 inches when installed in a compatible laptop.

IPTV is another waste of time. It requires a 30MEG internet connection. Plus I don't want Microsoft having complete control over my TV.
Wrong. It requires a 30meg connection to your TV/Internet Provider. AT&T Uverse is, I believe, currently the only IPTV provider. IPTV is NOT TV over the internet, it is TV provided over IP protocol. You're not getting your TV from MS. You're getting your TV from ATT. Think of it as, you have a cable box now from Motorola, but you're TV isn't coming from motorola, its coming from Comcast. And beileve it or not, you have a 30mb pipe to comcast ;)

I couldn't agree more with you. I miss the old days when there was only one console to choose from.
I made my choice and I guess I am going to have to live with it.

simply dont go bashing other people on there investments when your investments have holes in them. i dont spell check after rants because who cares no matter what i say and how perfect the argument somebody blindsides me with just pure ignorants like "who cares PS3 sucks your just mad etc... defeating the whole purpose of thinking up a well thought out argument. as terrible as the grammer was you get my point.Fanboys are stupid on all sides of the fence. you buy PS3 great hardware no games, buy a 360 terrible hardware a lot of games. in the long run both systems will change.

At a certain point playing the waiting game becomes a lost cause. Price drops, HDMI and a smaller chipset are nice, but you counterbalance that by sitting on the sidelines for years while good games go by.
