So, are you starting to get confused by all the different Xbox 360s out there? Let's see, we've got the Core, Premium, and Elite. That's pretty easy. Then there's the Halo 3 Xbox 360. Oh, and if you want a Premium with HDMI, you'll have to do some more digging, too. Let's not forget the Xbox 360 Arcade, which probably means there won't be a Core anymore. See, getting confusing, right? Look out then, because there just might be another SKU joining the mix. According to Stuff.tv, some unidentified GameStop employees have uncovered a new SKU dubbed 360 Ultimate. So, what's in the package? A built in HD DVD drive and a 320GB hard drive. That's it actually. Some are guessing that this is the rumored Xbox built with IPTV in mind, though we're not convinced that Microsoft would launch yet another new Xbox 360 anytime soon. Take it with a grain of salt, and start bugging Microsoft for some details on IPTV while you're at it.

$1000!!!
Some of that stuff should be included in a 360 model. If it was I wouldn't have gone with the cheaper choice, the PS3.
Online should be free (you pay $60 bucks for a game and $60 a year to play said game online)
Wireless should be free
And HD DVD should be inside the Xbox 360.
Can you see why smarter consumers bought the cheaper alternative, the PS3?

Honestly, I'd rather have an informed, intelligent user base that knows how to shop than a user base fueled by grandma's shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

Massive (failure):
The smarter consumer buys a console that has good games. Not a console that has good games later. I am sitting on a pile of great games for the 360... right now. Even if your fanatic faith in Sony leads you to believe that I am somehow unhappy with my 360 and envious for PS3 owners, I say you are projecting.
Sorry, but at even $500, people are STILL having trouble justifying a PS3. It WILL happen sooner or later for me, but I have no reason to rush that through delusion.
The cheaper game console is 360. You can't force me to take HD-DVD/Blu-ray or WAN into the equation to make your point. I refuse to. Unlike PS3, I can choose to ignore a majority of the optional features if I want to. In exchange, I pay a little bit more if I want certain features. I actually prefer that business model. You prefer the PS3 business model of inflated specs and over-trademarked hardware. I don't care what screwed up sense of economics leads you to believe that the PS3 is "value", but you don't save money by spending more money. See it for what it is.
As for getting my value out of a PS3, I expect to buy a 20GB version off of eBay for $300.

Yeah... I highly doubt this will happen as well, seeing as such the big deal MS made about the HD-DVD drive NOT being internal.
What I would be pissed about is if MS releases an xbox that is needed to watch IPTV. That's one of the reasons I bought my 360 besides the games, that IPTV looks badass, and if they come out with another platform for it... it's just stupid.
I wouldn't doubt a new hard drive though. If there can be a hard drive made that is 1.5 inches with 160gb, they can definitely make a better one, it's just a question of the cost.

im sorry but a smart consumer would also want the option of being able to actually play those games later instead of worrying about hardware failure but yet you choose to ignore that.MS to me has survived by that one year not by getting a head start on sales it was , shipping ports they maybe 1 year old doesnt seem like it is in there best interest with all the projects they have seperating them from oblivion devs.the PS3 just landed in an odd year where developers are creating games for the next year and taking even longer because only sony 1st party devs has had there hands on the PS3 for more than 1 year. MS has truly created a console with mass appeal that didnt appear to be present there first year out but when the actualy got something to compare to it showed but in my eyes it was an unfair bought. The War shouldnt of truly started until the end of this year to get up to speed and show a real comparison of amount and quality of games released. Getting a hold of PS3 first is allowed me to experince the few good games that were out there i wasnt willing to wait a whole year to Play RFOM and now in next 4 months there will be games maybe not killer apps but games. this argument between amount of games is old an extra $200 for a system that has a 2% failure rate i think justfies the price, before the 3 year warrenty it was $140 to fix a 360, the extra stuff like wireless, upscaler, blue tooth, Mouse Key board compat., different OS, and internet browser is just extra, blu ray i think is begining to prove that it was needed and not just sony pushing its new product on us is just the icing on top. the PS3 had games it just lacked exclusive games like i said capcom and Ubisoft games that released last year arent truly exclusives just good timing. 360 is great the tech put into it shouldnt be under estimated but over all quality of the hardware is poor(i dont like when the 360 shuts off after 6 hours and that was the first day im used to sitting and playing new consoles for like a whole day the first time)

If this were to be true (which i doubt) it would be either quite a ways off, or require a hardware redesign... the 360 uses 2,5" hard drives, and those are only available up to 250GB right now.

I would reply to your comment, but I am just taking a break from Bioshock. No really, I have something to say about your post, but... Its not that important to me and Bioshock would be a lot more fun than some long drawn out point by point rebuttal to your post.
I was lucky, I got the LAST copy of Bioshock Game Stop had in stock.
So keep making your points, see if you can hone them some, and I will get back to you sometime next week, because right now I have the highest rated game of all time to play. If you are lucky Two Worlds will hit another delay, and you will get another chance to talk to me.

Though I doubt the authenticity of this rumor as yet, those who discount it based upon the hard drive should be wary - Toshiba just paper launched a 320GB 2.5" hard drive - which would work with an Xbox 360. http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/21/toshibas-320gb-2-5-inch-hard-drive-a-worlds-best-for-laptops/

I don't know why you'd want a HD DVD drive because if your going to start investing in a totally new disc medium you might as well pick the one which offers the best features which is Blu-Ray. It's not rocket science. Common sense people.

PS.
IPTV is another waste of time. It requires a 30MEG internet connection. Plus I don't want Microsoft having complete control over my TV.

I'm excited about the inclusion of multiple headsets. Any live player knows you go through those headsets like m&m's.
Seriously they need some higher quality headsets.
