In a response concerning his earlier comments about Blu-Ray capacity, Epic's Mark Rein has once again commented on bringing user created content to Unreal Tournament III for Xbox 360. First, he noted that praising Blu-Ray's capacity was in no way meant as a slight to the 360's DVD format, adding that any extra content could easily be made available for download. Speaking about user created mods, Rein noted, "When it comes to user created mods on the 360 - we will work with Microsoft to find a way to support them." He added that Epic doesn't know what the solution is at this time, and that it will have to wait until after the PS3 and PC versions ships (as well as Gears of War for PC). After that (and some much deserved R&R), Rein promises that Epic will tackle the user created content problem and "figure it out."[Via 1UP]

At this point, I think Epic and Mark Rein have stress headaches collectively each day this sort of thing happens. I'd hate to be them right now..keeping fanboys at bay while trying to keep shareholders happy and making a profit.
Just don't tell Mark that Unreal Tournament III discs were painted with lead-based paints..

I'm confused that Epic is still saying they don't know how this will be done... Shouldn't they be talking about the recently announced live service that allows publishers to host content they want on their servers?

How much you wanna bet the PS3 won't get user created mods for download the same way they don't get access to the downloadable Oblivion content? Perhaps they wanted the extra storage of Blu Ray to offset the lack of functionality of their online network...

time for a bigger HDD. they said 20% of 360 users have cores which really sucks and people are still buying them because MS is dropping the price on them now. but then again MS cant just tell everybody to stop buying them that would just be a loss. 20 gigs is not enough either people store music, videos, movies, pics, cache games, and arcade games on ther HDD. im feeling the squeeze on my PS3 and thats 60gigs. Now that theres gonna be user based content, maps and mods downloaded to your 360 we are going feel an even bigger squeeze. im saying buy a Elite HDD instead of a pre. there is no way around this thing, next gen requires a lot of space because consoles are no longer just used for playing games its used as media centers too(DVR[both sony and MS are considering it],CD/movie PLAYER). Makes you wonder if MS planned this all out. You sneaky bastards you tricked me again!

@8 what? i own an 80gig ipod because the 30gig(my lil brother is happy) i had was maxed out and i have tons of music and movies i ripped (Rock, 80's Rock, punk, rap, hip hop, country, R&B, some jazz, pop music, baltimore music, reggae, house music, slow jams, a lot of emo bands i meen sometimes you just have to cry it all out, i put whole albums and mix tapes on it including remixs, im 18 by the way and my family is really mixed i meen my friends laugh when they run into Celine Dion on my ipod. im like a media pack rat i never delete anything. then i got some games i downloaded off of PSN. You can say im preparing for the day Sony allows you to play music in game, im gonna make a custom soundtrack for every game i buy(i know no life) but if you want to be smart ass and you already no the answer to that question be my guess.

Yeah, I guess I feel like a smartass today.
I used to have a crap load of cds on my 360 but I realized I never listened to them. I've developed more of an appreciation for in game music and the sound effects.
About the only thing I bother to download now are the demos, and they only stay on for a while. I've gotten a few tv shows but I don't leave them on long. I can always re-download them. I was gonna buy the bigger hard drive then I realized its kind of pointless for me. The only thing I'd want to download and keep are arcade games and movies, and movies are rentals only.
I've finally managed to resist a peripheral.

Please educate me if im incorrect and such a storage means is possible but why wont MS release software/ hardware to allow storage and access of demos/ game saves/ xbl movies/ tv etc that can then be loaded through a usb or ethernet cable to your console? I have the 20gb hard drive like so many 360 owners and whilst (as a UK user) I currently have no worries in space I worry that when video marketplace is available in the UK that I will be forever space managing on my hard drive. Any chances of this ever happening?
Oh and also: DemonG got it spot on: Mark Rein, shhhhhh!

I just re-read my above post and it wasnt very clear, I mean storage of all 360 data types onto a pc to load from your LARGER PC hard drives to the console.

There is such a device. Its called the Datel XSATA. Basically its an adapter of sorts that fits in between your xbox and your hard drive with a usb cable that runs out the back and into your pc. Then you can move data to and from your computer's hard drive. However you cannot view or manipulate the files on your computer.
I'm not sure if there are any restrictions on what type of files or not can be moved. I think I've heard something about rented movie files not being able to be transfered. Perhaps someone who has one can fill you in a bit more than me.

O yeah Truth way to go i luv the flame you got in you. everyone else answered quite nicely and i understand if they dont need the space you dont need a bigger HDD. streaming stuff from your PC is nice i do it to the PS3 because if you have read my comments before Truth my 360 is trash so ill invest in PS3 games whenever they come out (cough the next 4 months leading in to 08). when the death rate falls below 10% then ill buy another one with a bigger HDD. yeah PS3 has no games it sucks so hard but i dont care all i wanted when i bought a 360 was gears and halo but i had to wait a year for 1 and almost 2 years for the next one. dead rising was nice lost planet meh and i never bought saints row, condemned was a nice one. i own as many 360 games as i do PS3(5) games im kind of happy i didnt buy a crap load because thats what there are to me now crap. Multiplat games werent interesting enough for me so i just walked pass them except for NBA street and CoD3 for the 360 i love those games. O my god his name is MyPS3KilledMy360 he must be a PS3fanboy maybe if my name was joe or ISuckMSCock then you would over look me but i like when people read and write back just on my name misconstruing what im saying as bashing turning it into flame bait. its ok. Not every 360 owner likes there system i bought a gamecube and only played 2 games on it super smash and resident Evil 4 thats it. but your cool though i really like how you attacked me it weeds the dumasses and fanboys from the people who take there time to explain why they dont agree with my opinion but im sure there are other people out there like me who have a lot of crap. if everyone told MS what the problem is maybe shit would change but instead people sit back and let retarted stuff slide. look people the site is named 360fanboy i get it but people take it to heart a little bit too much instead of seeding through jostiq looking for info on the latest news about each console they made 3 sites to specify the information you want. If want 360 new guess where im going and not everybody on each site actually own the consoles yet possibly the people commenting are weighing there wins and losses if the buy system. i refuse to belive there are people out there who sit wait make multiple accounts to bash a console. now that is truly no life.
