Humans and elves, dwarves and trolls rejoice, for a
patch title update for
Shadowrun has been released. Despite TeamXbox reporting that the patch would go up sometime next week, it looks like it has already hit. The title update features several fixes including some exploit fixes (FASA isn't talking about what those exploits
are by the way), crash fixes, and improved bot AI. The biggest change, however, has to be reduced wait times in matchmaking, which FASA reports to be improved by 200-300%. Hit the "read" link for the full list of fixes.

Yeah I had a good laugh at the Joystiq post stating it would be live next week. Anyone who has been the the shadowrun forum would have known otherwise. I've been injoying the updated matchmaking speeds since yesterday morning.

So now I only have to wait 3-5 minutes for matchmaking? That's a third of 15 minutes. Too bad I'm already done with Shadowrun.
To tell the truth, the only reason I bought the game (other than being content starved) was to support the IP. Ya hear me Microsoft? I actually went out and bought your hackneyed FPS, now make me an RPG and everything'll be peachy.
You owe me.

They should have added offline splitscreen. For a multiplayer only game with only a few maps at $60 it cant even be played with real friends unless they also shell out $60. This really needs to be fixed.

@ Stranger
Um, 15 minutes? Maybe you should stop playing through an effing phone line. After this new update (and I'm not exaggerating) it takes around 10 seconds to find a match. 10 seconds. That's a lot faster than Halo 2 and the Halo 3 Beta. You should either get a better connection or stop dry humping the shit out of your 360.
Oh, and to support the IP? Get a fucking life, man.

They don't mention this but the title update also fixed the VGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The image used to look slightly stretched and now it looks fine.

I agree. Time to sell this game for a realistic price.

Suppose Stranger isn't from the US (Or a place with decent internet connections). I'm from Australia, and the part I'm in don't sell connections faster tan 1.5mbps.
That, in addition to general latency, will make waiting times crap cocks.
Being said, I've literary waited an hour for Shadowrun to find me a game. Not a fun experience. I'm super-psyched that I can play the game now, though it's the kind of game I could only play with friends.
On an unrelated note: Buy rez, dammit! Or at least something more productive than glider.
Bah. Coherent sentences ftl.

Haha, glider can be very useful in the right hands. It just pisses me off when an elf buys a sniper first round or something of that sort.

Matchmaking is blazing fast now. Matchmaking alone takes 10 seconds and in a party maybe about 30 seconds.
@11 glider can be a useful tech, granted, but there is absolutely no reason someone should buy glider in the first round. res or tree should be your first round purchase.

oh, by the way, you can now clear bodies in attrition with the artiflag.
that's a major game-play adjustment that should have been mentioned in the summary
