Overlord cover art is minion-tastic

Godfree and his merry band over at Gamertag Radio snagged the cover art for the upcoming title from Codemasters and Triumph Studios, Overlord. We don't know too much about the game yet except that it allows you to control numerous minions to do your nefarious bidding. Based on what we've seen, these minions don't do the kinds of things that people appreciate either -- things like trimming the hedges, for example. No, these minions basically murder, pillage, and plunder, and they do it all with a jagged grin (as the box illustrates).

In other words, it sounds like a fantastic game. We suggest you gaze at the box for several minutes, drink in its details, and then watch the recently released trailer.

Enjoy.

EB/GS website says late June. Maybe true, with the cover art being done and all.
Can't wait to try this one. There's just not enough pilliaging and plundering in Boom Boom Rocket.

You can tell a game is going to be bad when you barley know nothing about it and cover art is released for it and the game plans to be released in a mere 2 months.

To sum it up, first glimpse of good games, 2 years before release. First glimpse of bad games, 2 months before release.

actually, it was announced at last years E3, and there's a preview on gamespot here: http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/overlord/news.html?sid=6167859&mode=previews

By your standards, it might not be too bad afterall.

Hi Mike - as it's our game I guess I can answer this. We announce *all* of our games around nine to twelve months before launch, so saying it's a mark of quality (either way!) isn't correct. We do it at the same point in the development no matter what the game.

By your reckoning, that means that GTA4, with the first details announced a couple of weeks back (only six/seven months before launch) will be a bit of stinker. Better remember not to buy it now ;-)

Bunch of young whippersnappers! Is no one here old enough to remember Dungeon Keeper? My wife HATED the S&M lady's screams as you "tickled" her... man I loved that game.

I'm pouring one for my Bullfrog homies now.

Hah! Looks fun, but hopefully there will be other minions to control along with the imps.

Here's hoping for something remotely similar to Dungeon Keeper.

Actually it's more of a Pikmin type game according to the preview I read in EGM.
