While you patiently await for some other media to be come readily available on the internet, we can tide you over with something completely different. The May issue of Official Xbox Magazine has a cover story on Project Gotham Racing 4 and how it builds on the 360 launch title. The key points to look out for is the wider selection of weather conditions from rain, snow and sleet, with the in-car view taking full advantage of the first person view with added realism.
Speaking of in-car view, they plan on sprucing that up with more "involved" animations from the driver, from a shaky cam when going at break neck speeds to pumping their fist after a victory. The game also promises a more robust selection of cars and tracks to ride them on with over 200 courses across 10 locations. The best part is that it's only scratching the surface. Are you looking forward to accumulating Kudos this fall?

I'm pretty sure picking this one up. PGR4 seems to be way better than its predecessor, though PGR3 was great no doubt about it. Forza does indeed look nice but I'm not so keen on the simulation stuff. Definitely will make me think twice about getting the racing wheel...

Sounding great. That said, I'll only pick it up if it gets slightly more open race tracks. The previous games have been way too tight in the cities. The corners are so sharp and even with getting good ad drifting, it got me annoyed.
I hope there are some races that are technical but also allow me to get some serious speed.

BowserUSC: hopefully it'll work a bit better with PGR4... I mean, the racing wheel is cool for PGR3... just... those with a gamepad have a serious advantage.

It's been a while, but I swear the original Forza had a kind of quick run mode that was slightly more arcade-y in nature. I could be mixing this up with something else.

Yeah I definitely can't wait for PGR4 to come out, though it's gonna be tough to beat Forza 2 now...

I think most release dates that say Winter mean around January/February.

Dear David Dreger,
I noticed that you mention a fall release date, which prompted me to inform you of something I feel is quite important.
You may be surprised to hear that at any one point in time seasons are in fact different all over the globe! Another amazing piece of trivia is that the internet is available outside the US! Incredible!
Regards,
Mark

Let's hope PGR4 is closer to PGR2 (the best console racer ever thanks to brilliant Live support) than to PGR3 (a rushed game with incredible flaws such as NO TIMING in races!).
I don't care if PGR4 has 70 or 250 cars or if the driver pumps his fist after victory.
Just give us great online racing (like in PGR2) without the stupid "you'll spin if someone breathes in your direction" physics, let us race for KUDOS with friends (matchmaking is annoying bullshit), introduce more statistics, get rid of the dull, flat, wide parking lot tracks (see Castle Eight in PGR2 how it should be done), bring back the "slow" cars, get rid of wall riding and shift glitching, punish for quitting races etc...
Oh, and a rewarding online-aware solo game would be nice too with all sorts of weekly challenges etc..
My Xbox360 purchase is hanging on this game only.

this is great news. too bad they can't mash this up with forza. I would love to see some of the physics and customization aspects of forza in pgr4, or an in car view in forza. in car view is the hottness.

I hope the bigger collection of cars and tracks doesn't mean a diluted PGR experience!
If PGR4 is better than PGR3, then that will be quite an achievement. Looking at their track record and how the game has improved on each sequel (PGR --> PGR2 --> PGR3), then PGR4 is probably going to be a bloody amazing game.

I had some things to say, buy dgsa basically said them all.
I would like to see how PGR4 builds on PGR2 more than anything, because PGR3 was a vastly inferior game.
PGR3 has so few cars that they removed all the car classes, so instead of having to master convertibles, sport compacts, muscle cars and even pickup trucks and SUVs, you just get a good car and drive it in every race.
Bring back the slow cars. The Acura Integras and Miatas. And please bring back the Porsches too.
And how making it possible to drive cars that AREN'T Ferraris and win this time? The Enzo is a class B car? Not. And the 355 and 360 shouldn't be in separate classes either just so the 355 can dominate one.
PGR2 was the best non-sim on-road console driving game, hands down. PGR3 was a disappointment. Let's see PGR4 start where PGR2 left off and go up from there.
I'm glad to hear of short video clips. TOCA 2 use these to great effect. TOCA 2 is a very simmy driving game, but through the use of just a few simple clips with your quirky Scottish manager directing you through your career, it becomes a lot more accessible. The single player "career" mode of PGR4 would be improved a lot by adding just a little bit of story to get non-racing nuts more engaged.
