Good call Richard. I, like the guy above me, didn't really know what DMC was about, until a short while ago when a friend of mine compared it to Ninja Gaiden, gameplay wise at least. Colour me very interested.

I really can't believe how oblivious a handful of you are to other games out there. DMC came out before the Xbox version of Ninja Gaiden, laying out the core gameplay for the series. If anything, the restart of the Ninja Gaiden franchise was heavily based on it.

I own the first DMC on PS2, and it was a pretty solid game. I didn't own the original Xbox, so I only just picked up Ninja Gaiden, and the influence is undeniable.
However, the series' main character, Dante, is almost certainly the lamest main character I can remember in a game. He's like an uber heavy metal cliche from the 80's. There's rarely a shortage of cheese in videogame dialogue, but they really raised it to an art form with that guy. I just can't take him seriously.

Sure Ninja Gaiden was out as a franchise before Devil May Cry, but Ninja Gaiden back then was a 2d scroller, Ninja Gaiden is heavily influenced by Devil May Crys gameplay. Both are great but DMC is easily the king, sales and fanbase are much higher. I can't wait for DMC4, seriously. I've only played DMC1 and DMC3 but both were fantastic (I skipped 2 for some bizarre reason)

I played DMC 1 & 2 and thought they were great. DMC 4 is definitely a buy for me when it comes out. This week is just full of good news, first DMC 4 then Ace Combat 6. Now all I need for the 360 is FFXIII, MGS4 and Tekken 6 and I'll be set.

Metal Gear Solid was out before Splinter Cell. That doesn't prevent Metal Gear Solid from being utter crap with janky controls and an impenetrable storyline that only a person with absolutely no knowledge of Japanese culture could believe makes any sense whatsoever.

Most if not all of my 'on the fence' friends say that the 360 dosen't offer them the action/fighting games they like most from the last generation; namely Devil May Cry, God of War and Tekken.
Two of my friends went out last night to buy 360's now that DMC is hitting it, and that does my heart good :)

Blu-ray? We CAN have HD-DVD IF WE WANT it!
Have any games on HD DVD? No? Stuck at less than 9GB a game? Yes
The PS3 color, black, is better? We will have it too soon!
Color of box means nothing
60GB? we will have 120GB if we want it.
PS3 can have 200GB, 300GB, etc... all wirh using a cheaper PC type HDD and not a special one
I will give you a nod on the game front currently, as the PS3 is lacking though it has been getting much better since the beginning of March; though Halo means nothing to me since I never really loved the first 2 either.
I for one like the idea of HDMI and the bigger drive over all and believe they should have been there when I bought my 360 in Jan 06, but feel that it is a bit soon to introduce a new version of the system, and a bit of a insult to the early adopters unless MS offers a really good trade in program.
