I need a new headset too, my one recently stopped functioning correctly and now only sometimes emits sound from the ear, depending on how I bend the wire. I can still talk to others fine though. Crappy mic.
I think I'll pass this up and buy the wireless one, or one of those plantronics ones

Really? I thought they were a step backwards. I never broke the wires in my xbox headset so it stopped working, but I have with the 360 headsets. We had a light so we knew if it muted or not. There wasn't a few seconds of static and noise when someone muted their headset. What's the improvement? Over the head so you can rest your head on your couch? Most of my games I literally play on the edge of my seat so that doesn't make any difference to me.
