2. I picked it up last week. Despite the childish appearance, it's actually a fun game. It gets a bit hectic when you play for a while with all the different characters, plants to take care of and pinatas trying to eat each other.

4. My "crate" arrived yesterday much to the delight of a member of my family. The packaging is indeed a novel and creative idea and adds to fun factor of the game. It also puts to shame some other games CE extras. The game definitely will surprise some people and keep you wondering how much of your little piece of the world you can develop and grow. Warning, if you get hooked you'll be spending a lot of time with this game.

5. My pinata island is a big bunny concentration camp where they are forced to procreate and be sold to the highest bidder for chocolate coins! mmmmmmm. If they step out of line, I bash'em with a shovel and feed their entrails to the others. This game is not for kids.

6. For me the game is highly addicting. I bought Viva 2 days after Gears. It is quite difficult to pick a game to play at times because both are very good games

I will reccommend buy (yes buy, not rent) Viva if you like games like Sim City and Warcraft. Whats cool about it is that you evolve your garden from day one - no rebuilding towns like in Warcraft and that recent LOTR stratagy game.

A bit of a heads up:
The start of the game will be really gay because of the constant cut scene vids, tutorials, game talk, etc. - but stick with it and you'll be addicted within 1 hour.

(Shhh - I now wanna play Viva more often than Gears . . .

7. I'm surprised, but I'm really interested in this title. It looks dorky, but it sounds fun. My girlfriend is into The Sims and Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon and this kind of seems like a nice combination of those. Seems like we'd both enjoy it... plus it's only $50.

It's funny how that extra $10 stops me from making so many blind purchases lol.

8. Viva Pinata is legitimately engrossing, and quickly becomes more complicated than I can imagine children being able to handle. Sure, the initial worms and bunnies are no problem, but figuring out the proper chemistry to keep a flourishing garden and attracting cooler animals like bears and eagles is pretty involved. It's a really good game, it's very escapist, the customization is great, and the bright colors are a welcome contrast to the (phenomenal but dreary) Gears of War. Seriously, one of the best games on the 360 right now.

9. another thing to note for people who just start this game... the initial character you meet "Leefos" is incredibly annoyingly sweet and you really feel like this game is going to be for 4 year olds. Fortunately she shuts up after the initial tutorial and you can smack her with a shovel. The other characters are far more entertaining with subtle jokes only an adult would get. example: the woman who runs the items store says "Looking to buy something seedy? No, I don't mean that!!!"

10. I picked up this game the day it came out and have been surprised by how fun *cough* addictive *cough* it has been. Definitely recommend and agree with #6 about the beginning of the game. Hang in there and you will be rewarded.

***WARNING***
This game will not only be addictive to you alone. Girls are HIGHLY attacted to this game and you WILL lose your xbox 360 to her for numerous hours. I cannot recount how many times I have spent longingly looking at GoW or Viva yearning to play but only to be denied by my GF who cant seem to put down the #[email protected]#$%$ controller.

11. I bought this two days after I bought Gears of War (both on release days). I've played Gears three times, total. All my 360 time is going to Viva Pinata nowadays.
I actually think the graphics in Viva are the best I've seen on any console. But the gameplay: wanting to make the garden better, wanting to make that Preztail eat that Quackberry so that the Preztail is ready to 'romance' is addicting.
I'm even watching the Saturday morning cartoon.

I just realized I'm ten-years old again. And I love it.

12. This game is ADDICTIVE!!!!!!! Seriously, I went to shut it off last night at around 10pm, and I kept saying, let me just plan these, let me just Romance these, let me do this, etc.. Next thing I know it's 2am.. Crazy good..

Also, pay attention to the tip screens.. I saw one last night and didn't have enough time to snap a picture, I will try to if I see it again.. However, it said something about hitting a Sour Pinata for massive damage.. I nearly spit soda through my nose.. Nice hidden jab :-)

14. Tony you hit it on the head, this game is a combo of those 3 games almost down to a T. Add in some Pikmin style comedy and you have Viva Pinata a very fun game and challenging as your garden gets bigger.

17. I have to say, I'm loving this game.

I have had some pretty good success with tree farming. Plant nine or so of them, water them for the day, and sell them for a 200-300% profit.

18. I've only just started this game. The best thing I can say about it (besides the great visual style and fun gameplay) is that is just makes me smile.

It's the perfect change of pace I've been waiting for after all the sports, shooters, and driving games I've been playing. Thank you Rare and MS for taking a risk to create such a new and engrossing IP! (Even if you did just steal the best ideas from other games...) (^_^)
