There's no FU in UNO

UNO for XBLA may be a relaxed take on a classic family game, but more than one innocent tyke has discovered that kids on Live say the darndest things, especially if your gradeschool opponents are losing, or worse, winning. Mike from K1lla's Xbox Domain reports being called a "momma licker," "goat sh-t," "dog humper" and several other salty pejoratives that rhyme with woodchuck. Has Uno become as bad as Halo 2 when it comes to juvenile playground obscenities? What's the darndest thing you've ever yelled at an 11-year-old? Seen any obscene sign language on the Vision cam?

1. I've always wondered what it'd be like to punch a kid, probably around 10-11. I'm talking full-force-run-up punch, with plenty of conviction.

I think about this more and more since I got a 360. But hey, keeps the therapist happy.

2. Hahah.. I totally agree with you Insomnious. I wish there was some better system of keeping these little tykes out of the big boy play ground, and let the casual players play with ease. Yeah I know Xbox360 has a little system where you specify under what game tunnel you want to play through (family, Hardcore, ect..) But it really get's outa hand when there is nobody to enforce who can or can't join these tunnels.

But yes, Punching little tykes like these would be ideal to release stress. (new buisness product?? No more will you have to buy a ball to squeeze, pay meerly 5$ and you can punch this little tyke for 1 hour!!)

3. eh, i got a cam and refuse to play public uno now simply because i'm a girl and i have a feeling bad things are going to happen. but yeah i worked at a summer camp this summer and would love for the 5 buck thing to happen :D

5. No offense.... but I guess these are american kids... No wonder they curse a lot, they take after their parents.

Posted at 5:25AM on Aug 27th 2006 by Warcow 0 stars

6. Warcow,
You're probably right about them being American kids, but it seems that most of them do it just to try to be all badass, not simply imitating their parents. All I know is that if Halo 3 is anything like Halo 2 when it comes to the way people talk on Live...

Posted at 9:46AM on Aug 27th 2006 by Corey 0 stars

7. I disagree with Corey. The kids that are swearing are doing so because their parents have left them unsupervised or never instilled good morals into their kids. Bad kids are a result of bad parents, but it is not just in America where you see this problem Warcow

8. Are you nuts Warcow? only American kids curse online?? I have come across British and canadian pain the asses as well.

9. anyone read the interesting article on kotaku about some of the vision camera's other features? microsoft's gonna have a handful once the cameras are officially released.

10. To be honest, I've never met any arrogant British kids online. And of all the British players I've played, they all fall into the 'Recreation' category.

Being Britsh myself, there will be a certain bias: but I've had much better, enjoyable and honest sessions with Brits thatn I have with Americans. Halo 2 being the most obvious example. There's something fundamentally wrong with the Live system when you avoid certain games because of the people that they allow online.

11. gamerzones sad to say,are pointless I can't tell you how many lowlives i've played against in DOA alone that must've been high when they chose the pro gamerzone

13. You know the camera is only going to make this game worse. I watched some young fat kid repeatedly flip off my wife everytime she made him draw four. Won't someone please think of the children?
