Hitman: Blood Money gets a ship date

Posted Apr 12th 2006 3:00PM by Adams Briscoe
Filed under: News

Xbox 360 owners got a real treat not too long ago when we found out Hitman: Blood Money will not only be making it to the current-gen consoles but the 360 as well. Today Eidos has come out and said that May 26th is the day in which our infamous cleaner makes his debut on next-gen territory.

So with this title coming out on PC, PS2 and Xbox, most gamers want to know whether or not the 360 version will be just a fancy port or provide a little something more. We know how some ported titles don't exactly live up to the next-gen hype (*cough* GUN *cough*). It'd be a crying shame to see this happen to the Hitman series. Here's hoping we don't see an easy cop-out from IO Interactive.

1. I am excited, but with the recent news of the 360 version and the same ship date, I doubt this will be GRAWesome. They should take a few extra months to fine tune the 360 version.

2. Eidos probably already had this in mind when they made this. The screen shot looks next-gen'ish. I'm gonna buy it cuz I love the game. Whether it sucks or not, really doesn't matter (I'll play it, then trade it for something else if it does). I'm just glad it's made it's way to the 360.

3.
Boring.. yet another xbox port game. I think Microsoft have a cheek to say these games are next-gen when including them in their famous 80 by June figure.

Plus they charge more for xbox 1.5 version games. It's insulting to 360 owners. Hope the game rots and has bad sales like the other ports.

4. I gott agree. I would LOVE for this game to have been built with the 360's hardware in mind, but lets face it, it was just recently announced, shipping at the same time (or close to it, don't know the ship dates for the current gen versions), we have to expect it to be a port with high-res graphics. =( Sad but true.

5. What exactly is a port. Obviously all versions are gonna use the same story, take a look at GRAW. For GRAW on studio worked on the x360 version while the other one worked on the past gen consoles. People cant just assume because its coming out for both this gen and last gen consoles that the 360 versions is gonna be crap. GRAW turned out to be incredible and it was just the same. I'm pretty sure its the sony fanboys that are making these remarks just so for a second they dont feel like they are wasting a year of their life for a system thats a noshow.
