GoW2 campaign footage and map reveal tonight

Exciting news fellow Gears of War 2 fanboys (though, really, aren't we all?), Geoff Keighley and GameTrailers TV will be airing brand spanking new, unseen Gears 2 footage TONIGHT on Spike. Yup, yup! According to their little teaser ad, they'll be talking with Cliff and the Epic crew who'll introduce fresh Gears 2 campaign footage as well as an unannounced multiplayer map. You can watch all the Cliff, Gears and bloody violent gameplay tonight at 1:00AM eastern (10:00PM pacific) on Spike and GameTrailers.com.

And if you aren't busy, you may also want to stick around for the entire episode, because they promise to air the first footage from Rock Band 2 and Fallout 3 as well as BioWare's new project. Double exciting!

[Thanks, surinder]

Joystiq talks to GameTrailers about GRID fiasco

What fiasco, you ask? If you surfed GameTrailers over the weekend, it's possible you came across a (now pulled) video comparison of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Race Driver GRID. There were multiple segments edited together, some of them labeled as PS3 footage while others were labeled as 360 footage. The problem and, hence, fiasco surfaced when sharp-eyed viewers realized that all of the footage appearing in the video was from the Playstation 3 version. Adding fuel to the fire, many denizens of the net concluded that the video painted a better picture of the "Xbox 360" footage (though no specific declarations were actually made in the video).

Many shouted conspiracy, while more levelheaded viewers assumed it was simply a mistake. To find out exactly what happened, Joystiq went directly to the source, GameTrailers. The verdict, according to GT Editor in Chief Shane Satterfield: "It was a mistake in our post-production process." Head over to Joystiq for the full interview, which includes an explanation of why GameTrailers is so teh bias.

First Gears 2 in-game footage coming May 9th

Gears fans who salivate at the mere mention of seeing in-game Gears of War 2 footage we order your salivation glands to commence the salivation process. We've just heard that Gametrailers TV will be exclusively premiering the first Gears 2 gameplay footage at 1:00AM on May 9th. The video will feature everyone's favorite lead designer Cliffy B doing a special (and we're sure very badass) video introduction which is said to include Marcus Fenix who will probably, no doubt, be tearing apart hordes and hordes of Locust scum. Our calendar is clear and our countdown clock has been set for May 9th ... bring on the Gears gameplay!

Video: Just devouring hearts in The Darkness

Want to devour your enemy's heart? Want to create a black hole of death? How about gunning down Nazi soldiers in hell? If you answered yes to those questions, then it's looking like The Darkness is the game for you. GameTrailers.com posted an exclusive preview of game where they run through all the game's features, give a general sense of the storyline, and offer up an overall impression of what you'll experience when the game releases later this month. Give the video a watch and take it all in before the darkness comes and you fall asleep. (Yeah, bad joke. But you can't hate a blogger for trying!)

Ratatoille (rat•a•too•ee) Gameplay Footage

The first gameplay video of the film to game adaption of Ratatouille is available over at GameTrailers. Unfortunately, the aspect ratio is a little wonky on the embedded video above, but the SD and HD versions at GameTrailers are correct. Still, we can get a good look at how the game feels and some of the misadventures you'll partake in as Rémy. Fortunately, the game seems to retain the atmosphere that Pixar puts forth in the film. So, after having played Cars on Xbox 360, how do you think this game will fare as a kids game. More importantly (to some), do you think the achievement difficulty will fall somewhere between Cars and Open Season?

Video: Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Piñata sequel info

In the above video, Rare talks with GameTrailers about the potential of a Viva Piñata sequel as the direction they'd need to take it to keep it fresh, as well as their plans for the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie game. Banjo-Kazooie 3 will be a continuation of the series so it will be a safe bet that all of your favorite characters from previous iterations will be making a triumphant return. That being said, the concept artists couldn't confirm whether Gruntilda would be showing up or not. Are you looking forward to Banjo's new gen title? How do you feel about a Viva Piñata sequel?
