Video: Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Piñata sequel info

In the above video, Rare talks with GameTrailers about the potential of a Viva Piñata sequel as the direction they'd need to take it to keep it fresh, as well as their plans for the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie game. Banjo-Kazooie 3 will be a continuation of the series so it will be a safe bet that all of your favorite characters from previous iterations will be making a triumphant return. That being said, the concept artists couldn't confirm whether Gruntilda would be showing up or not. Are you looking forward to Banjo's new gen title? How do you feel about a Viva Piñata sequel?

1. Good god! I litereally JUST got viva pinata this past weekend and OMG THE GAME IS CRACK ON DISK FORM!!! I literally can't pull myself away. WHY WOULD I WANT ANOTHER ONE!?!?

2. Viva Piñata FTW!

3. I loved Viva Pinata. It drives me crazy when people may pigeonhole the 360 as an FPS platform. Sure there are plenty available, but there are 360 gamers that enjoy other genres too. Viva Pinata, for me, was an excellent diversion. Outside of Dead Rising, it's perhaps the one of the few games where I really enjoyed the challenge of the achievements, and it held my attention for months.

5. id be happy for a viva pinata sequal, and banjo kazooie i remember playing way back when with my freinds so it may be good. althought viva pinata seems like a tough thing to make a sequal for without just adding more features. they would have to add a LOT of GOOD features if its to be a real sequal.

6. Yeah I'd be 100% behind a VP2. I can't believe the first one didn't sell in greater numbers.

Don't know how they'd make it fresh and new though.

Cross-breeding?

Being able to tinker with their DNA on a molecular level?

Being able to hack up your Pinata and stitch different parts together to make a hideous Frankenstein-esque PinataMonster(c)* and scream "IT'S ALIVE!! IT'S ALIVE!!!"

Perform some cosmetic/medical animal testing - shampoo in the eyes, injecting them with human drugs, that sort of thing.

8. The original Banjo is one of my favorite games on any console. THe 2nd one was weak and tried to fit too much in. THe end result was too much of too little. I hope 3 will utilize the 360's capabilities and bring back the glory of the old original.

9. All I have to say about Viva Piñata is that I have a much-coveted Wii, but I almost never touch it thanks to Viva Piñata. That said, I'm more interested on Viva Piñata for the DS than a sequel.
