In our continuing effort to bring you fresh and interesting content, X3F presents Would You Rather ... a weekly feature that asks you the hard questions. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?
With his recent departure from Tecmo (well, technically he still works there until July 1), Tomonobu Itagaki has created the last Ninja Gaiden title of his career. It now appears to be obvious that his talk of Ninja Gaiden 2 being the last in the series stemmed from the knowledge of his future plans (aka quitting and suing parent company Tecmo). So, another Ninja Gaiden title is probably going to happen because franchises that make money don't disappear. The question is, do you think the folks at Team Ninja can do it without Itagaki?
We're sure they can, but ... would you want them to? So this week in WUR--a new Ninja Gaiden hits stores without Itagaki. What do you do soldier? What do you do? (Shooting a hostage is not an option).
Feel free to share the reasons for your vote in the comments. We'll share the results of the poll during the next edition of Would You Rather ... which hits X3F every Wednesday.
Last weeks WUR results can be find after the jump ... come in and check it out for free!

Shocking! Well, not really. While everyone still seems super excited for Alan Wake, most are dying to see what Peter Jackson is hiding behind the door carefully branded with the words "Top Secret". We know that door leads to Halo stuffs! No we're not psychic, you should just probably not use that Halo font. Dead giveaway.

I'm going to buy 14 copies of NG2. I don't even own a 360, I just despise Itagaki.

You know that some of his pay for working on Ninja Gaiden II is probably contingent on the game selling well, right?

I think its probably a blessing.
we can get somebody new behind the wheel with some fresh ideas. or maybe even an actual TEAM with a bunch of fresh ideas.
Ryu is free now.
the next game he's in will come with fewer preconceived ideas about what it 'should be'
and more ideas on what it 'could be'
besides Itagaki is pretty much John Romero 2.0

Itagaki took Ninja Gaiden (a franchise that had gone completely to waste) and turned it into the premiere (in my opinion) action game on any console. His departure means that no more of my money will be spent on either Dead or Alive, or Ninja Gaiden. (though I will absolutely rent both).
Actually, I take it back...I'll buy Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach 3. Why? Well....do you really want to receive a disc in the mail for that game? Especially when it's passed through hundreds of hands? Come on now...

I would not rule out buying it, however I would not be so willing either. Unlike the case of Ninja Gaiden 2 and Dragon Sword which I purchased without even caring to read the reviews (cause we all knew they would be awesome) I would have to look into it further to see whether it would hold up to the franchise name. If it does not, I pass, if it does I would give it a chance.

Ninja Gaiden is piece of art game, one 3d action that have no similar, its not the usual FPS or 3d action that is better or worse than others comparing in graphics an gameplay, its a unique game in everything that have a hardcore fans.
I Played ninja gaiden II and i say its a unique piece of art, sometimes u go mad with killing for achieving higher combos and hitting an achievement for 100 hit or higher and that exactly what makes ninja gaiden a success, its like thirst for blood in old-like weapons and magic against multiple enemies from fiends, Devils, army and high class ninja's.
yes ninja gaiden II have some issues that everyone will find, like the bad camera, no sound track to be memorized, and no co-op but that doesnt make it a faliure, any third person fan will find this game a masterpiece ever made on the new gen consoles.
Now if i want a third ninja gaiden after completeing this one : for hell yaaaaaaaa
but i would advise Itagaki to do this fixes:
1. A memorable theme (soundtrack) like god of war for example. something that makes us humble the song when we are not playing.
2. Intelligent camera mode. cause its like so stupid.
3. tricky killing for bosses, to say the truth to Itagaki ur bosses are great , in everything, their graphics are great, their voice acting is great specially Volf, was my favorite enemy and mixing the wolf breathing with his laughing was piece of art. BUT STILL there wasn't any tricks to kill them, they were just strong, there wasn't any kind of intelligence in killing them like Shadow of the Colossus for example, that would've take the game to a next level and great experience.
4. mix some puzzles element like a little bit of prince of Persia ( moving a wall, climbing, solving a room puzzle)
5. Harder story line that makes u feel why ryo is fighting all these enemies . (but hey who need a reason for killing and combos)
If the 5 elements i mentioned can be in ninja gaiden 3 , for hell ya i want a piece of that. if not i think ending the sequel is a good idea, cause for making a triology the third should be unforgettable.
i hope someone can deliver this to Itagaki cause i love to know wht is the answer for my comment
later guys

CBA with Itakagi, couldn't care less if he goes, and I doubt his vanishing act will bother anyone much, if anything, the females in the studio will feel much more at ease without him attempting to rub thier legs.

Itagaki is a badass. he does whatever he wants, gropes whoever he wants, and is ugly as fuck. he's probably the coolest video game developer alive. he's the reason for the boob physics in their games. he's the reason for the excessive violence in NG2. if there were to be another ninja gaiden game made, i doubt it would be as good without him. i'm nervous about 2, since i heard it's easier than 1. hopefully what reviewers have said holds true, and it's about the right difficulty. but itagaki was doing what others were too afraid to do- make games difficult and cater to serious gamers, not the casual crowd everyone seems to be targeting nowadays. basically, if the next NG doesn't have a. boobs b. gore c. difficulty i'm not buying it.
