Play.com has UK Rock Band instruments for less

UK gamers rejoice! Well, it might not quite be worth
rejoicing, but perhaps some unenthusiastic fanfare at least. With the announcement that the UK version of
Rock Band would cost £129.99 ($255), gamers were understandably angry. Making this even worse is that the bundle in question
doesn't include the game. Some good news then, as Play.com is
offering the Rock Band instrument bundle for £99.99 ($196), a substantial savings over the suggested price. Of course, it's still not ideal as the game still has to be purchased separately. But hey, it's better than plunking down the full amount, right? There's no telling how long the offer will last, so we suggest you get it while the gettin's good.
[Thanks,
Stukorn]

They're based in Jersey so the much talked about VAT doesn't play its part so they can charge a bit less. With a discount code I have the instruments and game pre-ordered at £132.95 or something so that's not too bad.

They'll sell about 20 copies and then need to drop the price.

Well, play.com is based in Jersey and they don’t send items within the EU. That has some consequences for a citizen inside EU for example me. If I order from play.com I have a fairly good chance that my order is handled by the Danish customs. Then I can look forward to pay 20£ in handling fees and 25% vat of the order price. After doing some math the total cost for me is £146. Play.com is a very fine store but often it’s too expensive for me in the long run. I have ordered Rock Band solus and the instrument bundle at amazon.co.uk. Total cost is £156 ($307). I guess I still save about £40 when Rock band releases in Denmark. Yes, the retail price in Denmark is set to £199 ($391). We always get ripped off :-(

Bit slow on the news but it's a good deal.
I was so excited for this (especially after I played GHIII) that it was a definite purchase. But after the UK pricing fiasco I might just fuck it off altogether.
