We advise jumping right in, so point your browser to Xbox.com's XBVM area and prepare to be amazed. You can now browse the entire list of movie rentals that are available, search by title, download rank, rating or just for movies that are available in HD. Once you find a movie, you'll now be able to read its synopsis, run time, file size, pricing and more. But that's not it. All that functionality is available for television content as well with the added bonus of browsing each show and each season. They even added a coming attractions section to preview upcoming XBVM content. The amount of information available is amazing! It's also a nice compliment to our Video Marketplace Weekly feature. A big high five goes out to Microsoft for getting this up and running.

I wonder when the Canadian video marketplace is going to get something like this... Actually, just get me TV shows first and I'll be happy.

No alphanumeric search??? Am I missing something? You have to be kidding there is no Alphabetical search for a movie title listing database... perhaps I overlooked it. If not... pathetic.
Improvement yes... otherwise, not useful for me.

wow. Assuming there using wmv encoded files when you download them (since there is no x.264 support anyway). Those hd files are pretty lackluster. most movies seem to be around 3-4 gb in size for a 720p. 720p wmvs should be at least 6gb to have proper quality with decent bit rates.
And no 1080p videos? No wonder people pirate movies online lol. The pay for alternative is not better, but worse.

I still think it's silly that they charge $ for music videos. I mean they do charge a couple bucks just for a few thumbnail images for your profile but atleast that kind of 'represents' you on XBL.
Sure you can get movies & TV shows on torrents, newsgroups, etc. but music videos are incredibly easy to find on youtube and not worth plunking down cash for.

as well as the fact that most record companies write off the productions of music videos as advertising for the album, which they are.

Now if they would add the ability to purchase from online so that when you get home and turn on your Xbox it will just download right away. Seaching for things on Live is very time consuming.

I'd prefer another re-haul of the Xbox.com layout. All they did in the recent update to the site was add some distracting background and small features. But really, having to go through multiple pages to see all my friends now - that's lame.

Big step in the right direction. But what would make this somewhat of a killer app would be if you could **queue up downloads straight from the XBLM site** a la Halo 3 downloads. Can you imagine!!?? That'd be incredible!
And having a web interface for it all opens up lots of possibilities like user ratings and reviews and recommendations and what not.
Do it, XBLM/Xbox.com teams!!! Please??? :D
