Proving that the Tokyo Game Show is about more than just announcing Ninja Gaiden 2, several new (and notably Japanese) games have been announced for Xbox Live Arcade. First and foremost among these are Lumines creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Rez and Treasure's Ikaruga. While Ikaruga's appearance on XBLA shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's been paying attention, Rez comes as a pretty big surprise. If you're not familiar with Rez, you're probably better off watching the video embedded after the break than having us attempt to explain it.
Microsoft also touted several other games for XBLA including EXIT (previously announced), Every Extend Extra Extreme (ditto), Omega Five (impressions), and Triggerheart Exelica (a shooter apparently). Things are looking up for XBLA, no?

Those have to be two of the greatest Dreamcast games. Both deserve greater and wider release.
I hope everyone gives these a shot.

HOLY MOTHER....REZ!!!!!
That's it... I'm in heaven..damn...wow. You all have to play REZ the second it's out. Wait overnight that Wednesday if you have to. Dammit. Imagine my virtual shotgun pointed at each and every one of your heads right now. Play. It.
Okay...with that said, REZ can be called one of THE best PS2 shooters ever made. It's most easily classified as an 'on rails shooter', much like the original Panzer Dragoon. You can lock-on to numerous targets at once all to the backbeat of trance music. Now that REZ is indeed coming to XBLA, there's very little left that we are missing to really build up an amazing library of games, truth be told.
This absolutely makes my day.

Has anyone played Einhander for the PlayStation? Omega Five kind of reminds me of that game, visually at least. Einhander was a really really good game side scroller 3D/2D Shooter.

OMG!! REZ in HD!!
REZ was one of my favorite games on Dreamcast, I wonder how big the download is, on the Dreamcast GD-ROM fits like 1,2GB so I hope the 360 version has all the music and trippiness of the original..
and yeah a wireless vibrator for my wife would be nice :-))
