The epic (we just had to) legal battle between Epic Games and Silicon Knights gets a new chapter today, with Silicon Knights
responding to Mark Rein's
comments and Epic's filing of a counter-suit. In a statement released by Silicon Knights' attorney, they "
don't think Epic's counterclaim has any merit" and that the financial setbacks they've incurred are "
millions of dollars more than what Epic claims its damages are in its counterclaim". Silicon Knights went on to calm the nervous jitters of
Too Human fanboys saying that "
the lawsuit itself will not have any effect on Too Human" and "
that through our own sweat and toil, we have created a new and better game engine". Man, if this little legal tiff gets any juicier we just might be willing to purchase the lawsuit's courtroom video off the Marketplace.

I don't know why the whinny bitches at SK are suing because they were incapable of making the U3 engine adapt to their game...
the counter-complaint has some nastiness in it, but nothing wholly exciting, I'd say it doesn't get interesting till paragraph 21 really...and even that dries up by paragraph 28 or so...which I could get my hands on that license agreement (it was filed under seal)

OK here is what i see
Silicon Knights buy the rights to the Unreal engine 3 --- they make too human with it
(They mod the engine round the way the game works) now they dont want to buy the rights any more so theysay its there BRAND new engine running the game.
God this just adds a bad smell to a game thats been rotting away fromthe inside anyway
E3 07 video Was Crap!!!! come on where talking about a 2-3 year old game here like
which in my eyes is bull Sh!t its a mod of the unreal engine & i hope they don,t get away with this
WHat do you guys think?

I really suggest you guys read the lawsuit. The new engine was built out of necessity for them, not because they suddenly just decided "oops, while UE3 is good, we don't want to use it!".
