When browsing through the Achievements menu in the pause screen in
The Darkness, we came across a nifty feature that we saw in
GRAW 2: Achievement Progress reports
. Any Achievement that requires you to do an action multiple times, it will display a percentage for completion on the bottom. Also, the "collectibles" Achievements show which ones you're missing in numerical order, so that is very handy indeed. Starbreeze knows where it's at.

ALthough after you complete it go to new game say to do it on another difficulty, you can't go to a specific chapter like in GoW :(

I love this idea! I have been saying to my friends for some time now that I wish it was an Xbox Live feature!

I purchased this game and found the aiming system weak.
Character control broken.
Gameplay bland and repedative and,
Multi player to be ASS.
I really wish I would have waited for the Demo of this game but I thought it was sure fire based on a certain sites rating of it and just how cool it looked. Now I feel like I wasted 60 bucks and should have seriously bought Shadowrun instead even though I didnt agree with its 60 price tag.
My Review of the Darkness....
Looks nice but plays bad 4 out of 10.
Dose anyone else think this game is the pits?

"However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is meaningless." Ecclesiastes 11:8
I came across that today, and it made me think of this game...that's all

I finished this game in one sitting...
A 13 hour sitting...
400/1000 GP
43 Collectables
Normal Settings
I had unnatural thoughts, weird hallucinations, and multiple gory nightmares.
I believe it was just me, but after playing 13 hours straight, it really messed with my mind.
BTW:@ 1-O B McCracken; You can start at different chapters on different difficulties.
@ 5-ccc; Yeah, the Multiplayer is just pure garbage. Aiming does suck (Truely Shines on multiplayer as well.) It took me awhile to figure out how much darkness I had until I realized that the color moving up the darkness demon heads is the gauge. IMO: A little too much was too vague.

This is a feature that needs to be in all games. This especially annoys me in Gears of War. Where it should show how much of each weapon kill you need to get.

@11: I thought that was in Gears? On the stats page for each gametype? It lists chainsaw kills, curb stomps, tags etc. Could be wrong mind I haven't played it in a while I'm sorry to say.

How does everyone like this game so far? Is it just me or does Jackie sound and look like Robert Dinero? With long hair of course
Cool game so far except I dont know how or if you can even control the Darkness snakes. The ones that devour the hearts. Can you make them do more or is that pretty much it?

I think this game pwns, period. I guess I'm the only one here who has no problem with the controls or aiming. It feels very much like Riddick to me, so if you people have that problem with this game, I'm sure you'll have it/had it with Riddick. @CJ, one of the powers is creeping dark which allows you to control a head for recon and stealth kills. I've played it twice so far and can't wait to play it again. But I admit, the multiplayer isn't the greatest, very laggy. Being a Darkling is fun though.

There are some things I like and some that I don't like. The mp seems like it could be enjoyable if they fix the lag issues.
The loading screens are hidden by cutscenes so unless you hit start or try to skip one, you'll only see the loading bar in mp
The achievement feature is awesome and you're right. I would love it if other games did this, but my guess is that they're going for the random factor

i got the darkness last night at kmart (after looking all tuesday for it at every store you'd think would have it, everyone saying it was sold out - hell, i almost bought transformers...). i'm pretty impressed with it. i can understand why some would call it repetitive, or repedative, but honestly, don't you buy a game for it's specific features? wouldn't those features be used continually and have a chance at getting old? the best games for xbox are the most repetitive games out there: gears, halo, oblivion, crackdown...
anyway, i can't wait to go home and play it some more. any game that lets you shoot the knees out of a guy and then slowly finish him off with a bullet to the temple, then eat his heart, is sweet in my opinion. if you're wondering if you should buy it i'd recommend you do. it's a sweet game, even if it is short (13 hours, apparently, hallucinatingly).
