The crew over at IGN received an
exclusive look at
Guitar Hero III's new guitar the Les Paul and walked away very impressed. One of the biggest improvements added to the Les Paul guitar controller is that it will feature wireless technology, which will be the first time Microsoft has allowed a third party peripheral maker to do so. They've also added removable faceplates, made the neck detachable, kept the same color fret buttons, and even added a third strap knob for even more customizability. It looks like
GHIII's Les Paul guitar is shaping up to be one solid controller to rock out with. But fear not
GHII owners, because your X-plorer guitar will work with
GHIII and vice versa. How very convenient.

awww man - where is the cherry starburst? why must all xbox 260 peripherals be white? Maybe there will be customizable stickers to make a better "faceplate"

Well is'nt that nice, Red Octane talks about a wireless guitar and that's great but what about the DLC for XBLA??? We still haven't heard squat from them about the pricing structure and the rest of the "Most DLC on XBLA". What happened??

I'm liking the idea of the removable faceplate! That's a really smart idea.

Anything's better than the crappy Explorer model. I'm sure sick of wondering whether it's going to kick Star Power on or not when I tilt it up. I actually loaded up GH2 on the PS2 the other night and realized how much better that model is. Let's hope the Les Paul is built more like the PS2 model than the 360 one.

despite #4's confusion between XBLA and XBLM, i agree with him. where the heck is all the GH2 DLC they promised?
9 rehashed, overpriced songs released 1 week after GH2 does not equal "the most DLC ever". it's been almost 2 months with nothing.

why the f** are they already talking about guitar hero III? Those money hungry bastards.. Is anyone seriously going to drop another 80 bucks on a game that is essentially the same as the one they just recently bought? So far it looks to me like it's just a spruced up graphic upgrade that no one has the time to enjoy while playing the game anyway... and a wireless guitar that should've been included with guitar hero II to begin with. I guess its just the fact that it feels like just yesterday that guitar hero II came out, and now they're throwing this at us, and then probably "rock band" shortly after that. I doubt GH3 is gonna do as well as GH2 did, simply because it's too damn soon. They should've waited... People are still waiting for that downloadable content.
