We got off to a rough start this morning, but everything smells of roses and fresh baked cookies now. Bungie sent word that the Halo 3 beta is finally available to download for those of you who are getting access through Crackdown. Simply pop in Crackdown, make your way to the main menu, select Downloads, and then Download Halo 3 beta. It's easy as pie! And yes, we know the public beta is going live a few hour later than promised, but can't we just forgive, forget, and get to fragging already? Or just take your anger out on the unsuspecting foes that you meet in the beta and unleash the fury! Have fun guys.
PS: They've extended the beta a few days longer until June 10th. How nice ...

To clear the cache as was asked and told...
go to system blade, down to memory, hit y, then X X LB RB X X, and in a sec or two it will ask you if you are sure you say yes and there you go.
I had to do this after a half hour of trying to do without. This worked right away. 70% done.

Ya you got to fire up Crackdown again and go back to the Download section. It may take a moment for the Play Halo button to appear too.
Game seems pretty fun so far. Nothing too mind-blowing so far. That mega laser gun is pretty sweet.

I too have downloaded the Halo 3 Beta only to be greeted with "the Beta is unavailable" when I launch the game (through Crackdown) and then try to play.

Ugh... it's just as I feared, now that everyone has it, it's having beastly problems... I can't form parties of 4 or more without having "Loading information from Xbox Live" for 10 minutes...
Not to mention there are so many noobs...

What do you guys expect? There's thousands of people downloading it, all at the same time. If you can wait a bit longer, get it late at night, or just wait till tomorrow.
I know when I downloaded it 5 days ago it only took 10 minutes.

I'm having the same percentage freezing issue. Try canceling the download, and starting it up again. My percentage jumped from 10% to 19%, but it's still not updating. So, I guess we'll just have to cancel and restart the download to see how far the download is. Oh, and make sure your screen saver is turned off, otherwise when it kicks in the downloading stops. Stupid crappy system.

Here is a trick if you want to download the beta via the dashboard.
Load up Crackdown and start the Halo 3 Beta download. Once it has started, cancel it. Exit the game and go to the Marketplace blade. Select the Account Management option and select Download History. In there, look for Halo 3 Multilayer Beta and select it. Select re-download and there you go. If this doesn't work for you, don't yell at me!
