As many of our commenters pointed out, the trial version of Catan has disappeared from Xbox Live Arcade. Major Nelson informs us that the trial version was pulled because of a "technical" issue. The Live team is currently working on a fix for the trial version and will put it back on Live as soon as possible. If you've already managed to download the trial version it should work fine (in other words, you don't have to delete it).
Of course, if you like taking risks, the full version is still available for 800 points.

Glad to see they spend weeks making sure the game goes through a certification process then it fails. Way to go Microsoft, where the **** is the FORZA 2 demo. Major Nelson sure can find out info about some crap board game but not something we care about. I understand he probably signs confidentiality agreements and that only lets him say what Microsoft wants him to say. Basically a puppet that tries to looks hip and cool to relate with the general crowd.

A lot of people DO care about Catan. Comments on sites other than the bitchfest that Major Nelson has to deal with on his site on a daily basis pretty much point to this. You can't take your interests and apply them to millions of people, sorry.
The fact is this game is out, the Forza 2 Demo isn't. I would think most people would want that to be dealt with first since they can buy it today.

By the way, the "issue" was that you could unlock achievements in the demo... That's pretty funny :D

I got the trial earlier today and I couldn't get any achievements (or maybe I did and just didn't notice). I ended up buying the game anyway so its hard to tell now. Definitely worth 10 bucks, its fun online and offline. Would have been nice to see local multiplayer support but it makes sense why its not there (seeing your opponents cards would be pretty lame).
