Sure, Hexic HD has been available for a long time, but maybe this will help those that still don't have the Grand Pearl Pooh-Bah Achievement. Anyway, since the video is under 15 seconds long, we'll let you watch it first, then go on about what it means for you Hexic addicts ... Done? Good. So, apparently you can do "double moves" with a starflower piece and have it only count as one turn, as the bomb suggested. We're not sure if you can combo it into more than one extra rotation, but it should help you in the right situations. The technique involves pulling the appropriate trigger twice with the proper timing. We're not sure if this maneuver can be performed on standard or black pearl pieces, or if it can be used to "skip over" moves that would result in a potentially disastrous combo chain, but definitely worth practicing to find out. Still, that
Also, the same site features what's called a "starburst combo" as well as clips from a 24 billion point Marathon game, which placed 2nd on the leaderboard.

It's actually not that recent of a trick. It's really hard to pull off but do-able. You should check the leaderboards for this game. After the discovery of MMC (massive multiplier combos) there has been a lot of discussion as to what patterns work best. Check the xbox.com forum for Hexic and you'll know what I'm talking about. By the way, a lot of credit should be given to oldtaco who is a master of this game. Check out his videos on youtube where he also demonstrates MMCs and basic strategies.
It's all about the grid :)

It does not beg the question. Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question
This has been your pedantic interjection of the day.

I'd like to put a plastic bag over your head and question you about why you think anyone cares about non-vernacular meanings of the expression "beg the question".

The dubble move has been known for a while and nobody of the top players use it. Its hard to pull of and you dont want to take a chance on that move when you have a highscoring game going on. That video is just a proof of concept.
If you think this interesting then the leaderboards would make you interested aswell, 23 points (shown on the leaderboard) and YS23 AOKI is currently number one on the leaderboard ;) Or maybe yojonos even 1.000.000.000 (shown on the leaderboard) is quite cool.
If you want a cool video you should also check out oldtaco's combo video - its insane! :)
