Today, we got hold of Bethesda's official press release announcing Shivering Isles, the Oblivion expansion for PC and Xbox 360 (and presumably PS3). Promising to put players in a world split by the extreme ends of madness -- sublime creativity and complete psychosis -- Shivering Isles promises 30 hours of gameplay, so it's suitable for your existing character or a brand new one. The expansion promises new weapons and armor to find (or to have forged by the experts of Crucible and Bliss), vast dungeons to explore, a twisted landscape to admire, and new monsters to fight. We're particularly interested in seeing what a Flesh Atronach looks like (ewww). Unfortunately, Bethesda still hasn't nailed down a release date or price. We all wait with bated breath (and bloated MS Point accounts).

I wonder how large a download this is going to be?
It's interesting that Bethesda is choosing to keep the retail box at it's full whatever, sixty dollar price, and sell the expansion only to owners of that box.
Versus last time out, when they released a single disc with the double expansion pack and the original morrowind on the budget line.
The upside is that the new areas are going to be blazingly fast, since they're going to be on the hard drive.

I think with an expansion of this size there should be additional achievements... at least 200 gamerscore worth (like an arcade game).

There is an ad for the crackdown demo and then you push A then it goes to download the demo and there is nothing there haha.

this expansion should be incredibly amazingly crazily insanely awesomely intesnely shweeeeeet i hope they put in somethin better than daedric cuz i can get a full suit of daedric in 2.334434 seconds if i wanted to its that easy. i hope they add alot of new creaters/monsters/enemies..yah cuz it gts a little bit just a little bit really really boring if u no what im sayin(but u dont no wut im sayin) and thats my incredibly awesome review/blog/idk wut it is.....bye respond to this immediatly or ill think no1 cares about me and go into deppression and take to many depression pills and hurt myself or ill just think nothing of it and play oblivion more alot more.....goodbye fellow oblivion players/people......................dot dot dot....tootles
