The Remedy development team just confirmed via the official Alan Wake forums that the "promotion referring to TGS took place in 2007, and is old news" meaning that the MSN Games promotion "was not an announcement that Wake would be shown at TGS 2008." A statement that isn't a flat out denial that the game will make an appearance at TGS, but it's far from confirmation that we'll see anything Alan Wake later this year. And we were starting to actually buy into the idea that Alan Wake wasn't total vaporware. Humph.

I have a feeling this game is going to be real bad!!! Just like "Alone in the Dark"! We will spend all this time talking about it, only for it to BOMB!!! I'm getting off this bandwagon now!

Alone in the Dark is awesome. I didn't buy it because of all the bad reviews but I did borrow from a friend who did buy it. It's amazing. I have to learn to ignore reviewers. Because of them I didn't buy an awesome game, Alone in the Dark, and raced out to pick up trash, Bad Company.
So far the only bad things I've heard about Alone in the Dark are from people just reciting IGN's review. Six of us here have played it through and we all love it. Give it a try if you haven't.

the only thing that's really kept my interest is the fact that they've done the Max Payne games.
other than that the game looks extremely boring and my interest is fading on it the longer it takes.

By the time this game makes it out, the tech. that was so impressive when they announced it is going to look dated.

Well, we'll probably be playing this before Home comes out. ;)
The delays are frustrating but bear in mind Microsoft are only focusing on this year's games right now. Near the end of the year we'll start seeing Alan Wake, Bungie's game and whatever else they've got.
Remember, we didn't officially know about Gears of War until early this year. Its a good, yet frustrating strategy as it makes the announcements that much more interesting to us Xbox owners.
I thought PS3 would own this year, now it seems like Microsoft's going to win again. It would be nice to hear about this game this year, but due to the way Microsoft now operates Xbox, I wouldn't count on it.

Boring! This games is just another cheap horror title like Left 4 Dead, a horrible arcade game that belongs in the game room of your local movie theater.
I rather play Silent Hill not this cheap over hyped alternative. Talk about another Halo 3. Shucks.

I think Alan Wake still has loads of potential, some of ya'll are too critical without basing it on anything.
And e.Missark...
Left 4 Dead is getting good remarks and comments from those who have tried it, Valve is not some crappy arcade game maker, half life, counter strike anyone?
Bashing Halo 3 and Valve just brings your ignorance to light, but hey keep playing your linear Silent Hill where it guides you along holding your hand, it sure is innovative /sarc.
