The first Mafia game was fantastic, I loved every single second of it. I could still throw the disc in my PC now and play for hours and hours until I fell into some sort of coma.
I cannot wait for Mafia II plus with all the updated graphics and processing power and all...its gonna be great.

You are too stupid to play video games.
Go back to your cave and take your club with you.
Geico called and this isn't easy enough for you.
The original was an awesome game. Hope the sequel measures up too.

I never thought about that, its a valid point. 3 free roaming crime spree games in one year? I'll kill my 360 if I used it for all of that.

Yeah Mafia was fantastic, the story was pure genius and the graphics where top notch at the time. Never have I enjoyed myself more than when I was cruising around at 40mph in a car straight from the 20s (which I personally think was the best era, the cars where amazing and everyone wore suits :D ). It had a completely different feel to GTA and was so very much fun.
Hopefully this one will do the same job of transporting you into the life of a Mafioso as the original did. The graphics look sweet and hey look there seems to be a cover system, hurrah.

After a quick bit of intermaweb searching and ending up on the 2K forum for Mafia 2 I found this which may suggest that it will not be released to closely after GTA IV
From a post summarising information in Gamereactor (a Scandinavian Game mag)
The plan is not to be in the shadow of GTA 4. They're going to revolutionize the genre. "Our game is serious"
So potentially released later in the year or 2009, well that is my theory anyway. Speculation? yes, correct? well maybe.
mildly random thing, I noticed this taken from Kotaku.com (linked to from Mafia 2 website)
"Sure, it had a few problems (ie the cars), but that's what video game sequels are for, right? So if the first one was a flawed masterpiece, here's hoping this one's just a straight-up masterpiece."
Firstly, what was wrong with the cars, they where so much fun to drive and damage, my only quibble was the 40mph speed limit... everywhere, even highways (as you call 'em), so you can hardly call it flawed for that. Second, why link to that if it disses your game? weird.

Mafia was great, I just reinstalled it last week and its still loads of fun and I can play if with graphics pushed to the max.
I originally played it on PC, then a couple years later on xbox, preffered it on PC for the controls/mods available.
Hopefully this one comes out great and it doesnt get too consolized because it was a great PC game and thats where I will buy it.
