So what does 2K Games have to say about this latest BioShock prequel rumor? Well, not too much. In a response to Videogamer.com, a 2K spokesperson told them that they have "nothing to announce at all" which sounds eerily similar to Microsoft's stance on rumors. We'll just have to wait a bit longer for official details (or more concrete rumors), but we'll be the first to raise our hand and tell 2K that a BioShock prequel not only sounds interesting, but is pretty much the only place you can take the story. Bring it on!

But will it be exclusive to the 360? It needs to be MS needs to get some quality exclusives to shadow out the PS3 exclusives.

I think it will be called Bioshock 2. And will feature multi-player arenas. And gravity guns...

I think this is kind of a lousy idea, and I hope it isn't true.
The best parts of Bioshock were- to me- slowly discovering how things went so wrong with the underwater city. I thought that the discovery process was the one of the main thrusts of the game's pretty excellent story.
So when I heard this rumor all I could think of was "Why would they want us to play through a second game that will recreate the story that they just got finished telling?"
It's not like I wouldn't buy it or anything- it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

i think its a great idea. if it's even true...
i'm not sure how further the fleshing out of the story and world with the signature bioshock story telling and gameplay will somehow ruin the story of the first game. in my mind it could only make it better.
there is no way the audio diaries told us EVERYTHING.

I think the sequel should be what happens after the "evil ending". I won't spoil it for those that haven't played through.

I'd love to see what Rapture was like when it was at its peak. Take the violence out of it completely and make it a sandbox game for all I care. And moar Sander Cohen, plz.

guys, check this out:http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/take-two-brings-mafia-dev-illusion-softworks-into-the-family/
a Czech studio just got bought by 2K, maybe this is why we're getting first rumors of bioshock2 from a Czech gaming site.
Maybe the site had an in with one of the Illusion Softworks guys and they passed the newest gossip from their new company onto Hrej.cz??
crazy i know, but it makes a weird sort of sense.
