A post on the official skate message boards has confirmed that the game has suffered a minor (and unexplained) delay. Those of you rushing out to pick up your copy today (complete with "new game Tuesday" smell) will be disappointed to learn that skate won't be hitting stores until Friday. Granted, it's not a long delay at all, but for those that have been longing for skate's unique new take on the sport, an extra two days can be a lifetime. Ah well, you can play through the demo just a few more times, can't you?

Man, I was all ready to go out an get this game today! I have never been into skateboarding games, just messing around at friends house with the Tony Hawk games (seeing how painful a crash I could do) but the demo for Skate is one of the most fun games I've played this year.
I guess I'll just have to play through Bioshock again...

Yea...i went in yesterday to pay off my pre-order.
The guy told me they would be into my gamestop on friday. He didnt know why either...
O well. Maybe they didnt want a game released on Sept 11?

Hey everyone, cheer up! Circuit City guaranteed this game to be available on Wed at 2pm. So if you go there and ask for it at, say 2:02 tomorrow, you should get yourself a nice $20 gift card. Check their weekly ad if you are a non-believer.

I just got back from Circuit City and received 2 gift certificates because Skate wasn't available @ 2pm (my girlfriend also got one). No problems but I have heard that they are getting word out that this is a manufactures delay and are no longer giving out gift cards...
