So, putting together a little tax info this morning, I decided to check out how much money I'd spent on Xbox 360 related things. $299 for a Core System (I know, but it's all they had), $99 for a hard drive, all that stuff. Delving a little deeper, I decided to check on all the the online purchases I'd made, which led me to MS Points purchased for content on Marketplace. From June (when I started here at X3F) to December 2006, I have purchased a staggering 7500 MS Points, equivalent to $93.75. That's almost two entire retail games.
X3F wants to know how much you've spent on MS Points in the last 12 months. To check your own account, follow this link, enter your .NET info, and click "Points" on the left side of the screen. You can access your transactions from up to 12 months ago. Add up your running total and submit your answer in the poll. Of course, if you don't want to go through all that trouble, you could always guess. Place your vote after the break.

Man it looks like I spend way too much on points.
When I worked out mine for the past 12 months I got a total of $210, or £140stg (16800 points) and I know I bought a fair few cards before that too. I don't even want to think about how much i've spent since launch.

Thanks for the link. I looked it up at MS website, and over the last year I've bought 40,000 MS points. I think that translates to around $500.00.
Ouch...never seemed like that much...I also noticed my point purchasing went through the roof when video marketplace came around.

I own all but 3 Xbox Live Arcade Games (Scramble, Cloning Clyde, RoboBlitz).
Hundreds of dollars gradually wasted.
I've also changed my gamertag (ten bucks REALLY wasted), got a couple themes and gamerpics, and Video Marketplace is BAD BAD BAD. Already have caught almost a half dozen flicks and wish for nothing but an increasing selection.
If I went for the TV shows, I'd be in debt. They need a season pass type deal for those.

I've bought like $120 worth. Considering I don't buy many retail games (I use Gamefly, largely), I really don't think it's that bad.

Too much impulse buying. Their MS Points doesn't look like really money trick is working wonderfully.
I've spent $130 since and I"ve only had the 360 since December 06.

I think the fact that one reader went and spent $500 with little notice proves that Microsoft's Micro-Transaction scheme is really working out for them. Because we don't know the exact exchange off hand and it's not a familiar currency, people spend it more frivolously, which ends in them making ridiculous amounts of money.

I've bought 3200 points... worth almost $40 or the equivalent of £30.
I spent it on arcade games like Heavy Weapon and marble blast ultra, PGR3 downloads and Saints Row downloads. For what I've got for the price, it's not bad at all.

Jeez.... 16500 or so points... totaling $193.75.... and that's just in 6 months. I'ma lay off the money machine for a while and head back to Sonic and the Secret Rings on my Wii. Thank you XBF for showing me how much money I was wasting... I seriously didn't think I was spending that much.

HA!!! That's how they get get your money!!! I've only spent $60 worth and have purposely stayed away from XBLA cause of the potential money I could spend.
The "micro" of microtransactions means => small = barely noticeable = "$2.50 for Galaga? No problem!" = lots of $$ for M$oft!!!
I used to make fun of the guys who have a ton of Live games purchased and played until I realized how much I've spent on retail games. Ouch!!!

I'm well over 100, but I don't regret any of the purchases, including changing my gamertag from Qbix to [enter random characters], and back to qbix. That capital "Q" bugged the hell out of me and there was no way of just fixing it. I feel a little robbed but happy I have a gamertag I like.

Shouldn't the poll be worded differently? Everyone should either click "$100 or less" or "$100 or more" and the other categories are irrelevant. They should be $ ranges not "or less".

2000 points for $0. I got 1600 free w/ a 12+1 month live card at best buy in December, and 400 more points from the futureweapons giveaway. So far I bought worms, a south park episode, and I'm going to get TMNT next time I'm online.
