Before anyone spends more than ten seconds reading this post, I'll warn you: I don't know what the point of it is. That being said, if you're still reading and you still crap in the comments, I'll just point and laugh. Now, let's begin.
A tutorial at deviantART goes through the step-by-step process of crafting an Xbox 360--not from shiny next-gen technology (chips, RAM, and what have you) but from the dark magic of Photoshop. I can't really think of many uses for this 'cept one: if you've been lusting after an Xbox 360 and keep a folded up image of one in your wallet to stroke, lovingly, from time to time, now might be the time to trade up. Render your own and duplicate that feeling of owner's pride we all place in our consoles (real or fabricated).

Really strange post. Sorry for my intruding in comments, but I couldn't pass through without notice :). Maybe we can make frontpanel with Photoshop?

I understand why people made the templates for the faceplates so they could re-design them but I don't understand this...

I completely understand this. I was waiting for months to get my XBox360. This is quite simply hardc0re entertainment system pr0n. If this was out when I was still waiting, I might have put this up.... for fun. :-P

Hey don't knock it, I just purchased my Xbox 360 friday and I already have a box on the way to ship it to MS for repair, maybe with this I could trick myself into thinking it never left..........or not.

I am going to make myself a photoshop picture of a 360 and then use the GameFace 360 kit from yesterday to make myself a fake 360 faceplate that looks just like the real thing. I think the universe might implode.

What's so wrong about wanting to make your own Xbox360 on PS? Someone might not be allowed to take images from the net, so if they need a 360, they can now just create their own!!!
With that being said, I would never even go near doing this because: 1)Why the hell would I need to do this; and 2)I'm not really that good at PS...

I would use this to test out custom faceplates before printing them by using a clipping mask. It will allow me to fabricate my design and see what it will look like before I try the real thing.
Plus anyone who uses Photoshop will find this a good way to practice using the pen tool.
