Sep 17th 2008 4:15PM You act like CC is the first 1200 point game. Bankshot Billiards 2 was 1200, so was Lumines Live, so was Roboblitz, so was Puzzle Quest.
Not only that, but CC and Braid are at least as good (better in my opinion) than the previous 1200 point games.
Games have been releasing at 800 points lately, still seems like that's the standard. I don't see as many straight retro-game ports coming onto the service that everyone complained about. Game quality in general seems to be ever increasing. A quick average of Metacritic scores by month proves that theory.
Am I the only one that doesn't see a problem with what is happening on XBLA in regards to game quality and pricing? A lot of the naysayers first complained of all the XBLA titles being crap, but now when amazing titles are released at a piddly $5 premium, suddenly that's no good either. I suppose they want the best games but at the cheapest price, well that isn't how the world works. And I bet some of you complain about XBLA while throwing down $60 on crap like Force Unleashed. You could have bought CC, Braid, Puzzle Quest, Small Arms, Marble Blast Ultra, and Geo Wars 2; for that same price.
Sep 5th 2008 11:42PM You forgot Live Score Tracker. Probably my favorite for this week's games since it only cost 80 points. My 2nd favorite is dodgeball and 3rd favorite is Nebula.
Aug 31st 2008 10:10AM This happens to a lot of people. Definitely a bigger problem than the network issues. Because people think that they have lost their whole save file, but have faith because it is actually there, just hidden. DO NOT start a new game with the character you had leveled up or your stats reset for him.
1. Go to Xbox Live game
2. Select the default CC adventure mode
3. Select "Create Match"
4. Scroll down and confirm to Create the Match
5. Toggle Ready
6. Back all the way out to the main menu
Then all your stuff is back. Takes about 10 seconds or less when you know what to do. I personally have to do it every time I load up the game. I guess for some people it only happens sometimes and others never.
Aug 11th 2008 1:52AM "I just want a fucking wired 360 controller that doesn't cost 40 dollars."
Here ya go:
Aug 6th 2008 9:19PM That seems like a lot until you realize that Halo 3 by itself made that same amount of revenue in a few days...
XBLA gets overlooked way too often. There are a bunch of great games that are also very cheap. Yet the retail games still bring in 100 times the revenue. There are probably 20 retail games that have sold over a million on 360, but only a couple that have done the same on XBLA. Aegis Wing should be the #1 selling xbox 360 game since it's free.
Maybe the new Xbox experience will encourage more people to get into the whole digital content thing.
Aug 2nd 2008 3:49PM You can get a great Elite bundle for that about that price right now:
Jul 23rd 2008 2:15PM Maybe you guys should have lied and said you like Shoot 'em ups (Ikaruga, Triggerheart Exelica, Omega Five, Raiden), fighting games (Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter), and most importantly JRPGs (Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Last Remnant).
Maybe they can't relate as much when yall say you like shooters and sports games. =D
Oh yea, and mention that you are REALLY excited to play Call of Duty: World at War.
Jul 11th 2008 12:08PM Will be nice to get another Valve-developed game, instead of an inferior port from some EA sweatshop.
Yes, I went there.
Jul 2nd 2008 11:04AM How the hell is this game stripped-down? The original never had online play or 16x9 graphics. The updated HD graphics look superb too.
Everything else is here. The museum where you can hear all the characters' lines, survival, team attack, etc.
According to Metacritic/Gamerankings this is THE best fighting game of all time. For $10 it is clearly worth it. This game is about 10 times better than SFII, online play or not.
The only thing missing is the Mission Mode. But I played through the entire thing on the Dreamcast and honestly it was just to unlock everything. Not having to go through that slog all over again is actually a positive. You have all the characters and modes unlocked from the start, and I think that is exactly what XBLA players are looking for.
I don't know what else to say. I assume the writer has never played Soul Calibur or is just a bit of a dim-wit. I would put Soul Calibur right up there with Rez HD, Castlevania SOTN, Ikaruga, and Vigilante 8 (probably) as must-have XBLA titles.
