That would suck.. but I don't think the voice would suit the design of this one. Every new SC game he just looks younger and younger. They should get Will Arnett to do VO for him.. a younger sounding, but still has that same ompf to it.

Not so much really, no. He played Lambert in Pandora Tomorrow only. How about a little love for Don Jordan? I mean he's been Lambert in every game EXCEPT Pandora Tomorrow...

They are actually using Jaleel White, the voice of Steve Urkel. It's going to rock!

Michael Ironside is Sam Fisher just like Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime. They can't change that!

That would really, REALLY suck(lol, weren't you guys talking about this on the last podcast.) BUT i am really happy that they are actually taking their time with this series, the Splinter Cell franchise is not meant to come out on a yearly basis. The bad thing though is that this game has not had any good news at all recently.

Ubisoft, if this rumor is the case, then don't even bother. Pack your bags and begin a new project.
First they turn Fisher into some metrosexual, chair-throwing fool, now he's losing his voice. I don't even wan't to imagine what's next!

i think it could work and actually would approve in this new game. it seems like they are taking a different approach with sam fisher, he looks younger with the hair and looks a hell of a lot different either way shave off the hair and he wouldnt look like the old sam fisher at all. this just happens in video games. companys get tired of they're old characters and refine them in turn they change the voice to fit the visual of that character. ironside sounds to old and couldnt fit the image of this new Fisher.

Well, there's been persistent talk of a Splinter Cell movie. Although Michael Ironside is the voice of Sam Fisher, he certainly doesn't look the part. It could be that they're looking for someone less well-known for when they cast the movie.

Micheal Ironside does a great job as Sam Fisher and he really added a lot to the game. It would be a shame if we lost him to somenone else, although I agree that Sam Fisher keeps getting younger looking with each successive game, the character is supposed to be a middle-aged man with an adult daughter.

I can't imagine playing a Splinter Cell without hearing Ironside's voice! That's just wrong.

I believe its because ubisoft has lost so much money during the life of the last few Splinter Cells, and good hard talent [aka ironside is a perfect example] cost good hard money. An actor with his trade down like Michael [ironside] knows that with a franchise, as it gets popular and grows, they can expect more $$ each time because its in the companies best interest to pay for that. As of late Ubis has been sinkin its money into development for the Assassins trilogy, and into the origin of the pop [Prince of Persia] series and as a result titles that havent been selling so well are being streamlined to open up funds for other new IPs, and the funds that are superfluous say like for voice acting of such games are better allocated to newer ventures. It's just smart business for their top end for any company to run a model like this.
ALSO..,
Linkbob.., if youre gonna spam your site or someone elses, shouldn't you use the url to the subject instead of to the generic frontpage?! Just an idea.
