Family Fun Fest: Baseball and gaming collide

For gaming enthusiasts who enjoy a good minor league baseball game every now and then, we'd like to turn your attention to the Xbox 360 sponsored Family Fun Fest that is traveling the great U.S. of A. this Spring. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest is an event that is currently touring the country, where minor league baseball attendees can partake in family fun. Family fun playing Xbox 360 games including Rock Band, GHIII, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Burnout Paradise and, of course, MLB 2K8. Again, the Family Fun Fest will be traveling to stadiums on the minor league baseball circuit through August, so be sure to check out the schedule to see if you'll be able to experience 360 gaming while attending a baseball event. We're also hearing rumors that the Xbox 360 crew is giving out free hotdogs and Cracker Jacks to all the top Rock Band performers ... but that's just a rumor.

Pac-Man community event in NYC

To celebrate the Pac-Man World Championship the Gamerscore Blog crew is hosting an exclusive 80's party in NYC this Tuesday, June 5th. The event will run from 2-5:00PM with some of the Gamerscore Blog crew, Trixie, Major Nelson, and other community members attending to play Pac-Man, mingle, and have a drink or two. And did we mention there will be prizes too? If you live near NYC and want to attend, head on over to the Gamerscore Blog to RSVP for the event. It's free, but tickets are limited.

Have fun everyone who attends and be sure to wear your favorite 80's clothing. Hypercolor tshirts anyone?

Gamerscore Blog's Road Tour stops in DC [update 1]

The Gamerscore Blog crew is still on their road tour across North American and still having fun. Today they set up shop in Washington DC with the official event kicking off this evening. And to pass the time between now and tonight they've been seeing the sights, visiting the White House, and getting a feel for what DC has to offer even getting a look at Mr. Lincoln himself. We're sure we'll be seeing more photos trickle in from their DC festivities later on tonight, so keep an eye out for secret XBLA clues or peripheral appearances. We hope everyone who RSVP'ed has a blast at the GSB event tonight, we're with you all in spirit.

Update 1: Doh! Their blog post was from yesterday, which means the DC event already happened, which means all the photos they have up are all you're going to get. It's Friday, what can we say ...

Photos from a special Halo 3 LA event

Last night, a few Hollywood youngsters were invited to get some hands on time with Halo 3 at a special event held in LA. And since we're not part of the cool Hollywood crowd, both Major Nelson and the Gamerscore Blog guys gave us an inside look into the event by posting a few pictures. Among the attendees were the BK King, Jon Header and Master Chief with the Halo 3 Zune, Legendary edition helmets, and special Halo 3 Game Fuel Mountain Dew on display. It was a Halo 3 parrrtay! Now we're off to find ourselves a datable (very attractive) actress who could get us into such rockin' events. Wish us luck.

GH II and Gene Simmons rock NYC

Joystiq was in NYC to capture all the Guitar Hero II festivities at the Virgin Megastore and almost got to touch KISS rocker Gene Simmons. The event featured a few of the best Guitar Hero II players this side of Texas who battled it out for a chance to rock with Mr. Simmons. Think of it as a one big marketing event where you mix one part old rockstar with three parts video games and watch the magic happen. The video above features the GH II winner rocking it out withe Gene and also a few awkward moments, but overall it was a pretty entertaining show. Also, be sure to check out both Joystiq and Major Nelson's photo galleries from the event to get a real sense of what it's like to be in the presence of a "rock god". The event looked fun, but now it's time to watch our favorite TV show, Family Jewels ... that Gene Simmons is such a character.
