Condemned 2 achievements revealed, creepy

360Sync had an exclusive first-look at the achievements for the upcoming survival-horror game, Condemned 2: Bloodshot. The sequel to the 2005 Xbox 360 launch title has achievement tasks that will sound mighty familiar to gamers, including finding various television sets and completing the game without the use of a firearm.

While the achievements, as they often do, have vague descriptions to them we're a little scared to ask what the "A La Mode: 5 scoops of everything," achievement could possibly stand for. Also, we're not even going to talk about the "Survivor King: Bum Rush Survivor multiple times" cheevo. We'd hate to throw out spoilers!

New GRAW2 achievements means more DLC

For those of you who are still supporting the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter then you'll be glad to know that a set of eight new achievements totaling an additional 125 Gamerscore have been added to GRAW2. Funny thing about that is can't unlock them yet.

The list of eight new achievements come straight from the bowels of and correspond to various GRAW2 co-op mission completions as well as killing tasks on any "GRAW 2: CC map". But know that these achievements are not the same ones released with last year's GRAW2 Co-Op Collection DLC, these are freshly new and totally unannounced co-op missions. So, that means only one thing to us: more DLC. We expect these new achievements to correspond to another round of paid (or free) GRAW2 DLC that will be making its way to the XBLM soon'ish. You are on alert.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 achievements rescued

The good folks at posted the detailed achievement list for the upcoming Ubi Soft first-person tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Weighing mostly on multiplayer points the list ranges from utterly simple, "Create your own custom camouflage," to ridiculously hard, "Lead your team to Victory 20 times in Team Leader with at least 6 players present.." OK, that isn't hard to do at all actually but it's funny how achievements need to be so detailed rendering achievement boosting impossible. Who would do that anyway? Sorry, gotta go our copy of Avatar: The Last Airbender just showed up and we hear the points are hella easy.

Achievements, a double-edged sword

You might remember our old pal David Dreger (aka Knuckles Dawson) from such articles as Achievements 101 and as the newest blogger for Rooster Teeth Productions. Well, it seems that talking Points on X3F wasn't enough for KD as a recent interview he conducted with Turok game designer Paul Parsons has just hit the internets.

In the interview Knuckles and Parsons tear down the curtain and reveal the mysteries and drama of Achievement points. According to Parsons, Microsoft issues a guideline of best practices to developers when creating an Xbox 360 title. Included is an Achievement guide that is used to help developers make the most of Microsoft's mandatory stat system.

Parsons also discusses how some achievements had to be removed because they broke the pace of the game during testing, including multiplayer points that balance the modes, the four types of gamers according to the guideline (Killers, Socializers, Explorers and Achievers) and much more. As an added bonus, Rooster Teeth is holding a dino-themed contest for some Turok swag. We suggest you check it out.

[Thanks, Knuckles]

Broken Godfather achievements now un-broken

We know this news only affects roughly 0.8% of the gaming community, but those who own the The Godfather and purchased the Corleone Challenge downloadable content need to be informed. Informed that the DLC's once borked achievements are now working properly.

You see, when the Corleone Challenge DLC went live (and all this time) the additional achievements were sorta borked. Borked not because one couldn't unlock the achievements, but borked because no Gamerscore was given once unlocked. Well, today EA confirmed that they've fixed the Gamerscore problem saying that it was due to a "temporary server glitch", but all has been fixed. So, from now on, EA promises that all of The Godfather's achievements will unlock and pony up their assigned Gamerscore. For those who unlocked the achievements previous to the fix, well, you'll have to go through the account recovery process to earn your Gamerscore. And that's no joke.

Team kill achievement in Turok is no more

Well, it looks like gamers can finally rest easy. Readers may recall that Turok was to include an achievement called "Grab Bag" that rewarded players for killing their own team members. Specifically, players had to kill "at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 teammate, and yourself in the same round of a public match." With griefing players already ruining multiplayer games everywhere, gamers were naturally upset when Turok's developers decided to actually reward them for it. Thankfully though, the devs at Propaganda have seen the light and will be altering the achievement with a launch day patch for the game. The achievement will remain in the game after the patch, but will now only require players to kill a creature, an enemy, and themselves. So it's mostly fixed, but don't be surprised if your teammates are constantly throwing grenades at their feet.

Ninja Gaiden II needs your achievement help

After cornering Tomonobu Itagaki and forcing him to answer questions regarding Ninja Gaiden II, the Gamerscore Blog crew then took it upon themselves to convince Team Ninja that Ninja Gaiden II's achievements needed a gamer's touch. And well, they actually listened.

Team Ninja is requesting your gaming experience, your creative genius and your achievement knowledge to help them with the task of generating achievements for the 360 exclusive Ninja Gaiden II. If you have an idea for the best achievement evar, simply make your way over to the GSB and comment on their post with your idea. Team Ninja will then pick some of the best ideas and use them to create Ninja Gaiden II's achievements. Who knows, if they use your idea they could go as far as to make you an honorary ninja complete with your gamertag laser engraved on a samurai sword. One can only dream.

Earn super elusive ProStreet achievement Dec 19th

The Need for Speed team just revealed the first ProStreet Community Race Day will be going down on December 19th where you can play with the developers, win prizes and be all blissful n' such. Not a huge deal though, right? It's just one of those corporate sponsored (Castrol Syntec) online "events" that is aimed at getting you to play their game ... right? WRONG!

If you are a fan of achievements and already own Need for Speed: ProStreet then you need to be online December 19th, because this event is actually an achievement. Yup, the developers thought creating a 15 Gamerscore achievement called "Community Race Day 1" for participating in this once in a lifetime event was a dandy idea. So, if you miss playing, we guess you'll never get the achievement. We aren't sure how to enter into the community fun or how to unlock the achievement, but we do know you'll have to play ProStreet December 19th to have any chance at it. Get prepared achievement whores of the world and complete the task set forth ... you have another one coming when "Community Race Day 2" begins. Mwahahaha!

Turok's team killing achievement

Well that's just great. Like we needed another reason to get the denizens of Xbox Live into griefing. The achievement list for Turok has been revealed and one achievement in particular could raise a new generation of team killing jerkholes. Entitled the "Grab Bag" achievement, it rewards players for killing "at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 teammate, and yourself in the same round of a public match." Granted, at least it's not for a ranked match, but who's bright idea was this? Sorry Propaganda, but encouraging betrayals (outside of Kane & Lynch anyway) is not our idea of fun. That said ... we'll probably do it. We could use the points.

Avatar: 2 minutes + B button = 1000 Gamerscore

If you're in the need for a quick Gamerscore boost, then look no further than the rental shelves and a child friendly game called Avatar The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth (that's one long title). This game is a Gamerscore whore's dream, because you can not only get all 1000 Gamerscore with little effort, but it literally takes less than two minutes to do so. We're serious, just look at the game's pitiful achievements. All you'll have to do is pretty much run into a corner, tap the B button about fifty times and in around two minutes you've got yourself 1000 Gamerscore. The hardest part will be surviving the game's awful cut-scenes, but you're a trained Gamerscore warrior, so we think you'll be fine.

Xbox Originals to be achievement'less

Our good friend Major Nelson had to be the bearer of bad news yesterday when he revealed that the upcoming downloadable Xbox Originals will NOT include achievements. Boo, hiss, boo! The reasoning is simple, the games are direct ports of the original games and so, aren't 360 enabled for achievements. We guess that's why they will still have problems. So, come December 4th when you'll be able to purchase Halo, Fable or Psychonauts, don't expect any achievements or anything enhanced for your 1200 Microsoft points. Hell, don't expect much at all ... just don't expect anything from anyone!

[Thanks, Boff]

We got 'em, Mass Effect achievements

Yummy, delicious, enjoyable. All these words can describe the list of achievements for upcoming hit Mass Effect. What's that? You haven't seen the leaked list of achievements? Wow ... poor thing you, we didn't know. Hmm, we should tell you about them.

First off ... WARNING! Spoiler alert! Your treading on spoiler charted waters! The list of achievements available after the jump sort of tell a bit about the Mass Effect story, plot, etc., etc. But, if you are un-phased by such stuff, then click away. Though, In general, the achievements are pretty decent and range from weapon achievements, to story achievement to the Completionist achievement which you can earn for "completing the majority of the game" (nice and vague, we like that). Oh, and be sure to note that there's Gamerscore to be had if you "complete any romance subplot" ... we wonder what that's all about. Risque!

Scene It? achievements have been seen

Searching through the deep, dark, dusty and ... drab'ish corners of, Morgon from uncovered a list of all 42 Scene It? achievements. The list of Scene It? achievements (which are all viewable after the jump) is mostly made up of very elementary tasks like answering questions from specific categories, answering "X" amount of questions correctly, etc., etc. So, the game's achievements may not be all that exciting or original, but darn it, the game has a big button controller and we like controllers with big buttons. Any questions? Good. Scene It? achievement list after the jump.

Achievement quest to be rewarded with Smash Bros

Jason Cipriano of MTV's Multiplayer blog is something of an achievement whore. Of course, we know a little something about achievement whoring around here, but Jason has come up with a very interesting challenge. See, Jason is a Smash Bros. fan (we have a soft spot for the series too) and very soon he will find his achievement whoring and the upcoming Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl at odds with each other. According to Jason, Smash Bros. will easily take precedence, but he doesn't want his gamerscore to suffer for it. To this end, Jason has decided that he will accumulate 10,000 more gamerscore points before he allows himself to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If he wants to do that before the game releases, he currently has about 11 weeks left to do it. Oh, and did we mention he already milked Fuzion Frenzy 2, MLB 2K6, and King Kong? Yeah, well he has. Best of luck Jason, you'll need it (if you want to play before next year anyway).
