Video: Faith's animated run story

Continuing EA's exploration of her origins, the latest Mirrors' Edge "Run Story Trailer" shows us how Faith perfected her acrobatic skills and how she learned the ways of the messenger. The Mirror's Edge animated trailer (after the break) also shows us that flashlights are not an effective tool for taking down an enemy from a long range and that Faith isn't able to smile. Ever.
DICE planning Mirror's Edge as a trilogy

Talking with AusGamers, Mirror's Edge senior producer Owen O'Brien acknowledged EA and DICE's plans to continue the Mirror's Edge franchise and shows interest in developing a level editor for future sequels.
"The story we're telling at the moment is kind of a trilogy, a three-story arc," said O'Brien, "there's a lot of scope to take the story in different directions, or maybe tell someone else's story." Though, O'Brien makes it very clear that Mirror's Edge, this first installment, will solely focus on Faith and her "experiences in the world." Good times.
All said, we don't know if talking trilogy is worthy of excitement or praise, not just yet. We have a demo to try out next month and the game's retail release to play through. Then, if all goes well, we say bring on more messenger bag running sequels.

Agile Mirror's Edge achievements revealed

The MGC crew just sent word that all 1000 Gamerscore worth of Mirror's Edge achievements have been revealed and most all are acrobatic in nature.
The achievements (viewable after the jump) include the standard mission completion and combat mix, but also include a handful of "Speedrun" and movement string achievements. We can already tell that earning 1000 Gamerscore will not be a given all because of the 80GS "Test of Faith" achievement that is only unlocked once you "complete the game without shooting an enemy." That's asking a lot from fanboys who have spent years and years finely tuning their headshot skills.
Rumor: Mirror's Edge demo releasing Nov. 6th

According to the Mirror's Edge pre-order page over on Gamestop.com, the long promised Mirror's Edge demo will release to the XBLM on Thursday, November 6th. Which, if true, would be in line with EA releasing a demo prior to the game's retail release on the 11th. So, we say bank on November 6th being the release, because the only reason we're slapping a rumor tag on this is because EA hasn't officially confirmed it yet. We can't wait!

Origins of Faith: Trailer outlines the beginnings of Mirror's Edge
A flash-based trailer showcasing one of the most impressive looking titles to hit this holiday? OK, EA we'll bite. In a society seemingly ripped from the pages (in concept) from a George Orwell novel, Mirror's Edge is the story of a world where citizens are trained and controlled. After a failed resistance the city has grown sterile and without emotion but now a new group leaps from rooftop-to-rooftop in search of freedom from control. How does Mirror's Edge rank on your holiday buying list?

$130 Mirror's Edge includes Timbuk2 messenger bag

Sure, it's much nicer than GameStop's pre-order bag but do you really need that $130 strapped to your sholder when so many great games are hitting by years end? Well, if you do need it we guess it could be worse ... at least it isn't priced at Timbuk200 dollars! Amirite?
Video: Mirror's Edge proof of concept footage
Today, EA released an interesting Mirror's Edge video showing off what the game looked like before it became, well ... a game. This new "Proof of Concept" trailer was one that was created to test to overall concept and serve as a benchmark for what they wanted to achieve in Mirror's Edge. Like we said, the footage is rough around the edges and done way before Faith was chosen to be the main character, so don't be alarmed by the chracter's manly arms. Enjoy the show!
Mirror's Edge jumps, rolls, lands on November 11

EA also revealed that a demo of the tutorial stage, also known as the stage featured at E3 and PAX, and a scene from the single-player campaign will be made available. As an added bonus, those who pre-order the game after September 26 will receive a code to unlock the Time Trial mode within the demo. We're jumping for excitement ... and to hurdle ourselves over this red staircase.

Video: Jumping Mirror's Edge gameplay
Fresh from the Games Convention comes new Mirror's Edge gameplay footage depicting a few solid minutes of action packed running, jumping, diving and climbing. The first "Energy Plant" gameplay video (embedded above) shows off some rather sexy moves and acrobatic sequences all ending in a watery slip-n-slide. The second video (after the break) is a bit less exciting and kinda shows what happens when your jumping skills aren't up to par. It's Mirror's Edge video goodness, now go watch.
