Update: After playing a single online game, EA's servers booted us right out of play and wouldn't allow us to reconnect. We'll reschedule a real event soon.
You may have noticed some of our regular features have been MIA in recent weeks. In order to prepare for E3 and make time (and room) for special features, some of our content has been put on a temporary hiatus. Until the madness that is E3 subsides we're putting a hold on Community Content, Would You Rather and Points>Life -- technically, just Xav. You may see random special editions of our content during the event as special bonuses, but we're just giving you the heads up incase you were wondering where your favorite feature is.
As you may be aware, if you listened to the latest X3F Fancast -- Richard, Dustin and Alexander will be bringing the show on the road with special podcasts as E3 progresses. It's another way we're keeping everyone at home up to date while allowing the home crew to recharge the batteries.
One thing we can't put on hold for now is X3F Live and considering the popularity of Battlefield: Bad Company on our friends list we're going to be game hunting later tonight (again, just Xav). So tonight from 9 to 10 PM EST watch out for Gamertag: Snypz and hopefully we can cause some mayhem together. This isn't an organized event, but Xav is looking for some game time before the craziness takes over!

This week for Community Content we're doing something a little different. On top of our regular community contributed content for Halo 3, we're browsing through the most popular Bungie.Net downloads as a second recommendation.
Yes, Community Content has doubled in size! We're giving away double the dose of content. Two maps for the price of one. Well, considering they're free--for the price of zero. So, jump in this week for our community submitted content and for our own Bungie.Net recommendation!
Also, make all checks of $0.00 payable to X3F Towers ... kthxbai.

This week on Community Content we bring you a giant space ship in the sky! Again. While it might sound like the same thing, it's considerably different. In OberionTheGreat an attacking crew begins with normal weapons and a few extra vehicles and must infiltrate the docked ship in order to capture their flag and score one for the people of the planet.
Add to this a barrage of fusion cores (which I kept calling coils in the video, cuz I'm awesome) and a few hidden surprises and this one could turn out to be another icy trip into a space siege. Check it out and make sure to email your suggestions to COMCON [at] xbox360fanboy [dot] com.

This week Community Content brings you a floating ship, an arsenal of weapons and a the most clausterpobic area ever found on Avalanche. In The Falcon, two teams face off where one controls the flag found in the ship suspended in the air while the other attempts to make their way inside to capture the cloth.
Adding multiple weapons and nearly every type of vehicle, The Falcon is a map that will have your adrenaline pumping while waiting for the next round to begin.

This week in Community Content we bring you a subtle change to Blackout. Blackout is supposed to represent isolation from the outside world. Fighting for survival on a floating oil rig, you must fend off your foes and achieve the maximum body count to come out on top. This week's content, Juicy Blackdome, changes the map on its head by removing the majority of the maps power weapons and creating a new perch for players to "rain down" the doom.
Due to technical difficulties, no video walkthrough for this weeks content is provided. Apologizes!

Ordinarily at this time of day you'd be shaking your head at lame machinima and commenting on the latest entry into our weekly Halo 3-centric feature, Community Content. This week is slightly different.
After unleashing user-generated content for nearly four months we thought now would be a good time to recap all the content we've ever recommended in our weekly Community Content feature.
Missed a few weeks? Looking to spice up that copy of Halo 3 you still hold onto for dear life? Check out our super-list of Community Content after the break!

This week in Community Content we bring your an Avalanche map variant that adds a touch more of Sidewinder into the mix. Cottonball is vehicular mayhem at its best with twice as many rides equaling twice as much carnage for Big Team or Objective based gametypes.
Perfect for Capture the Flag, Assault or a high scoring Team Deathmatch, Cottonball is a minimalist approach to Community Content is a whole lot of fun to play. Check it out!

We've been putting out best effort into correcting technical issues with the video portion of this week's installment of Community Content however we're still encountering issues. That in mind, and with our goal of releasing the best quality content for the readers, we're delaying the release of Community Content until tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully our issues will be solved and we can get right back to doing what we do best: utilizing lolcats for header images and creating new words for daily use.

This week's Community Content is an Infection gametype on a variant of Ghost Town. In Dead City, human players must survive for five minutes as they wait for emergency evacuation from a contaminated village. Utilizing two bases connected by a barricaded catwalk, humans have few weapons at their disposal as they fight to stay alive.
Dead City is unique because it utilizes a day and night cycle. Using the newly added filters in Halo 3, the map changes from Day to dusk to dawn. As it gets more and more difficult to see the tension to survive the winding clock rises. Check out Dead City today!

A few technical issues forced us to release this week's Community Content a few days late, but we're such big fans of this week's map that we think it'll be worth the wait!
This week in Community Content we bring you a new take on Rat's Nest. A closed off interior lined with vehicles, strategic equipment placements and a single territory that gives the controlling team dibs on the lone tank makes this version of Rat's Nest into something fierce. Made for almost any gametype, the map called Rodent's Abode is as fun as it is dangerous. And by that we mean lots.

Quick announcement fanboys, both XBLA in Brief and Community Content will be delayed this week. Thanks to some unfortunate uploading and conversion issues, these videos will hit late tonight at the earliest, but it's more likely they'll show up tomorrow instead. Stay tuned, because you really don't want to miss Rocky and Bullwinkle. Well, actually you do, but you don't want to miss our video about it.
Oh, and we guess you can watch Community Content too.

This week brings us paintballin' action so sweet even Greg Hastings is sure to pop in his copy of Halo 3. This one shot, one kill variant, coupled with the Foundry based map make it as stressful and enjoyable as actually being beaned in the head with a paint pellet without all the fuss of running around and actually getting beaned in the head with a paint pellet.
It's pretty much a win-win situation if you ask us!

For the past few weeks we've brought you fresh content for Halo 3 from your fellow readers in our weekly Thursday feature, Community Content. Today we want to announce that Community Content will be moving to a new home on Friday for the remainder of April.
By moving the feature we hope to open up new opportunities for X3F LIVE events with content that would be fresh in every ones mind. So, this Friday stay tuned for yet another go at Community Content.
On Friday evening X3F LIVE made it's triumphant return with an hour long romp in 2Fort, from last week's Community Content. While the initial match of multi-flag went horribly wrong due to my inability to set a time limit, Xbox Live's wonky server issues and the horde of X3F readers attempting to get into the 16-player game, the event ended nicely with four solid rounds of single-flag.
We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the event and promise you won't have to wait long for another X3F LIVE evening.

When the Heroic map pack was being touted by Bungie, their biggest talking point was the Forge possibilities with the map Foundry. With the Legendary map pack Bungie has been rather quiet regarding any sort of new Forge features. Until now. This week Bungie went all out, revealing the specialized Forge items for each of the three Legendary maps. Avalanche has walls, corners, ramps and watchtowers. Blackout has ramps and doors to block off room interiors. And Ghost Town has ramps, bridges and scaffolding.
The real star of the show however, are Forge Filters (see above for a preview of a few). Forge Filters are: "forge objects that change the camera settings to create a variety of effects." Have you ever placed your camera in a very specific location to achieve a precise image effect? Say inside of an explosion or something? Now with Forge Filters, you can CHOOSE the image effect you want applied to you image. And from ANY camera position, even during gameplay!
