EA has launched the official website for their latest attempt at "the world's most popular sport," FIFA World Cup 2006. If you're getting a sense of digital deja vu, it might be because FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup launched along side the 360 a scant four months ago to middling reviews. This game is supposed to have more stadiums, better animations and a "Best World Cup moments" mode. We'll see if five extra months in EA Canada's backfield results in a world class Cup, or just another kick in the balls for next-gen soccer fans.
The latest addition to the line-up of demos on the Xbox Live Marketplace is FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, allowing you to sample some simulated football (or soccer, depending on which side of the Atlantic you prefer). Demos are a great way to experience games for yourself, without the expense of buying magazines, and more launch titles should be coming to the Marketplace in demo form soon; currently, only Kameo, Madden NFL 06, Need for Speed and NBA Live 06 are available.
It's time for the fanboys to unite. As we've been hearing over the past 24 hours, many of our usual online friends were not able to secure Xbox 360s yesterday. So, it's time to make some new friends (besides, the guys over at Joystiq won't accept our friend requests).
GameInsider has gone to all the trouble to scan and host manuals for some upcoming titles. The selection includes Condemned: Criminal Origins, FIFA 2006, and Project Gotham Racing 3. If you really can't wait to get your mitts on these games and want to read the manuals in preparation, give it a shot. We already did.
