Talking to Variety, Rockstar's own Dan Houser acknowledged he is "not sure" if the 360 exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content will release this year.
"It's going well. But we don't know a date," Houser admitted, adding that "we hope to be announcing that [the DLC release date] in the next few weeks." Quite interesting, seeing that last we heard, the DLC was on track to release in November. Then again, there has always been some confusion regarding the DLC's release and a surprising lack of hype from Microsoft regarding the content's release later this year.
All said, we wonder if the GTAIV content is as big of a draw as it was back in the day or if the 360 gaming community has just, well ... moved on.

I have to agree. I figured the overhaul of realism would make the game way better but was so wrong.
Not to mention "HEY NIKO WANT TO GO BOWLING!?" every four minutes.

I think GTAIV and Fallout 3 where the games of this year I really couldn't get into due to the pacing. Not saying they're bad games though, just not for me.

I have to say I was looking forward to the DLC when the game first released. After spending many hours playing GTA IV, I found it not to be that fun. The driving and flying control scheme just was the icing on the cake.
Pending on if the DLC gets released, it would take a site (such as this one) to do a thorough review to see if its worth the points.
I found the fun that was lacking from GTA IV in Saints Row II, but without the sexy reality visuals.

I've already sold my copy. I knew from the beginning it probably was going to get delayed until 2009...
I guess it's time for me to change my icon then, huh? Ehh..I'm too lazy.

I would love to change my icon too but when I try to log in I get a "incorrect password or username" which is weird since I can still post. I can't find anything on updating my account or changing my password here or on the 'stiq... Well, maybe I will just make a new account.

The most overrated game of all time, seriously every reviewer that gave it a 10 must have only played it for 5 hours or based it on hype. You do the same stuff over and over again, I couldn't finish the game because it's so repetitive.
I'm willing to say if there was no controversy associated with the game it would have gotten average reviews. I'll probably pass on the DLC.

Rockstar changing/not sure of a release date anymore? That's unheard of.

I really enjoyed playing through once, but it didn't really have much replay value after that for me. I kind of hate to sound negative about it because overall, it's a pretty good game. The multiplayer was just frustrating for the most part, so I never really got into it though.
I think it's smart to push the DLC back just because there are too many other great games to play right now. In a couple months, maybe I'll want to head back to Liberty City. Too bad it didn't hold my attention the way COD4 did and Gears2 will now.

I think maybe Rockstar saw what happened with Mass Effect - DLC was going to be "huge" and almost like another big push to buy the game. What happens? DLC is eventually discounted for Mass Effect. If you are doing DLC for a game, it has to come out within 3-4 months, or folks will have moved on.

I am actually still waiting and excited for the DLC. I just finished my second playthrough for the LC minute cheevo. It was fun. The missions are repetitive, but I knew that going into the game, and I then enjoyed it. I love the game's visuals, some of the best yet. Sure it has pop ins and other querks, but standing on top of a building looking out over LC is quite impressive.
The whole push back thing is no surprise to me, they were slow releasing the game. It was slated for less than a month post Halo 3 then got pushed back 6 or so more months. I am not surprised the DLC is pushed back. Now, is this DLC for sure the xbox exclusive DLC? I know that the PS3 is gonna get stuff too, so how are they going to coordinate that I wonder? Is the PS3 just gonna have to wait longer to get anything? Sounds like a bad idea to me. I still have my game. I will likely get the DLC as long as it is not over-priced.

GTA IV is, in my opinion, still one of the best games ever made. When you see the whole city from the air, and bear in mind the bustling and diverse nature of the street life below, it's an incredible achievement. Most people seem to be of the opinion that it's just not that much fun, but I've put well over 100 hours into it, completed it 100%, and still find a great deal of enjoyment playing it, and I don't even play the multiplayer mode.
The vast, "sandbox" nature of it means that there's almost unlimited opportunity for some fun and exhilarating gameplay. It just requires some imagination - which is sadly what most young people lack these days, which is why they hang around on street corners shouting abuse at people instead of doing something more interesting.
Back on topic, I look forward to the DLC. I know it's going to add something great to this game in a similar way to what EA are doing with Burnout Paradise. I don't mind if it takes until the spring to get here - I've got at least 5 new games to play between now and then.

Yeah, too little too late Rockstar. I'm bored with GTA IV and unless this DLC is something that drastically changes the game-I'll pass.

Looking at your icon I think Castle Crashers might suffer the same fate. The lack of working multiplayer might have cut off what legs it had.
Already sold my copy of GTA 4.
A better sandbox game in my opinion was
Crackdown.

This works out for me - after a several months hiatus from Liberty City, I got back into it, and finished the game a couple of days ago. Gonna spend a little more time in Liberty City picking up a few more cheevos, and I look forward to the new DLC with interest.
It still amazes me what a stellar job they did making Niko so likable, given that he's a serial murderer, mob hitman and all-round scoundral.
