The Rock Band 2 forums have been buzzing in anger for the past few weeks in regards to a game bug that erases your entire band.
Briefly, the bug seems to be affecting 360 copies of Rock Band 2 where the primary band member has a Live enabled account and another band member is rockin' out without any Live membership. Then, for no reason and usually further into the game, the bug glitches and deletes your entire band and all of its progress. Major, major bummer. Harmonix hasn't acknowledged or addressed the problem yet, so we have no clue when or if a patch will be released. For the time being, we recommend playing Band World Tour with all Live enabled or all non Live enabled accounts. Please, rock out carefully.

I can see how this would really burn people. What is odd is that HMX isn't saying anything about it.
At least I know what to avoid.

I just finished reading the thread about it and whats going on is crazy. I'm glad when I play with friends my profile is the only one thats used during play. None of my friends have a gamertag on my 360

This happened to one of the guys I play with this weekend. He accepted game invite to our band while he was playing with a friend. He ended up joining the session but for some reason had assumed the identity of the person that was playing with him. He jumped back out because of that mix-up but noticed his band was gone. We all thought he was full of it but his band was completely gone. He had a few million fans, well over 1000 stars and was getting ready to play endless set-list. So he was pretty bummed about it to say the least.

As opposed to, say, the PS3 version, which hasn't been released?

Yeah see, issues can occur when you rush a product. But I'm sure your accustomed to that...

This happened to me the first time I played the game. I figured I'd just screwed something up. Thankfully I'd "only" been playing the game for three hours.
FWIW, I used a "default" band name instead of creating a unique one. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Since then I created a new band with its own LIVE-friendly name and not seen any issues.

I'm not kidding dude, I'm totally serious. I had a few friends over and since they didn't bring their profiles with them, I had them sign in offline while I was signed in. We played hours of Band quickplay and the next day when I went to play my solo career and both my bands were gone as well as my created character, money, fans, challenges, etc... all erased. Glad X3F posted this though, or else I wouldn't give RB2 another chance.
