"[Rod Fergusson's] quote that was taken out of context," Bleszinski told Videogaming247. "I think we're pushing the 360, but the system's not going to get any more RAM, it's not going to get a faster processor, but at the same time that puts the impetus on our programmers and artists to be smarter with what they work with."
Bleszinski went on to compare the Xbox 360 life cycle to that of the Super Nintendo console; graphics gradually increased in quality and just as it seems to reach its limit someone uses "ninja code tricks" to push more out of the system. "It's amazing what programmers can do. I wouldn't count our guys out yet," Cliff added.Gears of War 2 hits retail this November 7 exclusively on the Xbox 360.

Nope, not out of context at all. Just didn't have the MS spin on it yet.

That is what they should be doing anyways: pushing the system to its limits. I do not want to pay for a pricey system for them to only use some of its power. Sure, there is a limit as to what any machine can do, but we have what we have and they should at this point be figuring out how to use all of the power of the 360. With that knowledge, the games that come out from here on out should all be using this power until the end of the life of the 360.
On that note, all I have to say is that I sure hope some the the hardware can transfer over to the nexter xbox. I mean, controllers, hard drives, etc. Not likely, but I have invested so much I would hate to start all over again. I will likely have to though. That was nice about the ps2, the controllers were forward and backward compatible with the ps1.

Well, the great thing is that Epic Games (and Cliffy B.) isn't owned by Microsoft Game Studios, so they can say whatever they want--so long as it doesn't mess with their NDAs.

Except in the SNES days 95% of 'ninja code tricks' weren't code at all. In reality the extra performance came from additional RAM and processor hardware built into the physical cartridge. Not the best example Cliff.

The Xbox 360 is reaching its limit, eh. Well are the games, current and future, pushing that limit yet? Doubtful.
It will be especially nice when the PS3 games even tap the threshold for that system.

Didn't you hear? MGS4 already did! It's all down-hill from here! I mean, if you expect games that are 90% FMV. In that case, a Blu-Ray Phantasmagoria might push the limits of current hardware, for whatever that's worth...

Why can't the person ever just say, "Ok, sorry. I said something stupid."
Everything is always "taken out of context." So instead of the attention put on the person who said the stupid remark, it's always put back on the general public, as if we're too stupid to understand what he said. We just took it "out of context."

Thats true. I guess the only intelligent people are video game makers. Wow. If that is true I feel sorry for those exclusive to the PS3... Oops, did I go there?

Lies! They meant what the said the first time. They just realized MS probably wouldn't be too happy about them saying anything negative about the 360.

I believe Microsoft made the mistake of making the Xbox 360 too easy to develop for. A strange statement I know, but hear me out. This means that the difference between Gear 1 and Gears 2 is not as noticeable as say the difference between a certain competitor's first and second generation games. So What I'm saying is that the Xbox 360 peaked too early, while the competitor's titles appear to be getting progressively better and better. So gamers will think, that the Xbox 360 is not powerfull enough, when what actually happened is that Microsoft made it easy enough for developers to squeeze 99% of it's power almost straight away.
I actually own an XBox 360 and write games for it using XNA, so I don't want to hear a word about defence forces at work here.

PS2 would have been a better example than the SNES.
I remember being amazed by God of War. Amazed it was running on a PS2! The difference between that and Riiiiiiiiiidge Racer was quite substantial!

I think he meant what he said, as for them, they had pushed the box to the limit. I think he is just adding to ___'s statement because we do have to be careful about what we say. All we know, someone could come and figure something out and push the limits even more. I, personally, think that the prior statement was necessary. Almost like it was directed to Microsoft, albeit indirectly, so they can start preparing for the nextgen xbox. As if he were saying, "look if you want us to push graphics/innovation you're gonna have to meet us halfway with the hardware", especially with their new Unreal Engine 4 almost finished. I'm sure they have pushed it, what can they do? The ps2 wasn't pushed even more later with God of War 2 like they said, imo, I have both games and played them like crazy... all they did was add/polish gameplay and storyline, that's all I noticed different.
Just my thoughts on it...
